About this ebook

Alex has more money than he knows what to do with, but he's impossibly bored with his life because nothing seems to fulfill him and hold his interest. When his friend Kevin recommends an app that can deliver anything you ask for, provided you can pay for it, it's exactly the spike of novelty he was looking for to make things a little more interesting.

The app is incredible, and delivers on every request he makes no matter how outlandish it is. Alex starts to wonder what the limits of this weird service might be, and makes the most ridiculous request he can think of: He wants to actually experience life as a woman and see if it's more interesting than his current life.

He didn't expect the app to actually be able to grant his wish, but he soon finds out just how wrong he was! Unfortunately, this wish cost him all of his money. Now he's broke, female, and needs to work with Kevin to figure out who the shady forces behind this app are so that he can persuade them to undo his request and get him his money back.

The two friends set out on the strangest adventure of their lifetime which gets weirder with each passing moment, and the new feelings emerging for his friend Kevin are only making things harder...

    Chapter 1

Alex lay back on the deck, trying to enjoy the feeling of the sun on his skin. After a few minutes, he rolled over onto his stomach. He grabbed his Kindle and flicked through his recommended titles. He bought one that looked interesting, but he found himself daydreaming before he even finished reading the first pace.

Alex sighed. He was bored. He looked around his five-story mansion, from the expansive gardens to his huge pool and deck; as beautiful as it was, it was utterly devoid of life. He lived here alone, and all the interior decorating or landscaping in the world couldn’t make up for that.

He told himself not to be ungrateful. Some people struggled just to survive; they would kill to have nothing to do but get a tan or read a novel. Alex donated money to social organizations and charities that provided education, shelter, food—anything to help them get a leg up, but his bank accounts refilled faster than he could drain them.

Alex went inside. He checked the time and brightened when he saw that it was noon. Kevin was on break now. Alex’s best friend never failed to amuse him. He dialed Kevin’s number from memory.

Kevin answered on the first ring. Hey, Alex. What’s up?

    I’m bored, Alex complained.

You could come and wash dishes if you’re that bored. Alex could practically hear Kevin smirking at him. Not that Alex could blame him. Yvonne’s taking a sick day, so it’s just Tracey in the back for the lunch rush.

Oh, sure, put me in the kitchen so I can get yelled at for doing everything wrong.

Hey, it kept you from being bored. You need more life experience. If you’re bored, you’re boring, right?

    Yeah, maybe, Alex thought.

Hey, if you really want something to blow your money on, you should try this app—Cellular Service. I heard some rich couple talking about it when I was bringing their food. Apparently, it will give you anything you can ask for.

    Anything?

    That’s what they said.

Alex chuckled. That could be fun. I’ll give it a try. Thanks, Kevin. I’ll let you get back to work. Unless you want to quit your job and come traveling around the world with me.

    Nope. I like working.

Alex had never liked working and had given it up once he’d made his fortune, but he hadn’t managed to find anything he truly loved doing to fill up the time.

This app sounded like a good distraction. Alex found it, raising his eyebrows at the price tag. $1,000 just to buy the app, plus the prices of the items and delivery fees? At least it would give the accruing interest pouring into his accounts a run for its money.

He scrolled through some of the featured requests. A quiver of arrows tipped with diamond heads; a door that would only open if you sang the Harry Potter theme; 1 million satin roses. There were pictures of all the deliveries. The roses took up the customer’s entire yard, piled so high the house was half-buried.

Holy shit. A challenge. For the first time since before he was rich, Alex was excited; he was hungry. Finally, he had something he’d have to actually try at. He was going to beat this app. He’d ask for something so ridiculous that it couldn’t possibly be fulfilled, and he would win. It wasn’t even like it’d be an easy win; the requests they had managed to deliver on were so weird that he’d have to push himself to get creative.

He tapped his fingers on the table as he considered. He’d wanted to upgrade to a bigger bed. Grinning, Alex started typing into the request box. I need a 25x25 foot bed and a new room to put it in.

The app spent a few minutes calculating before spitting out a ridiculous price tag. That didn’t matter to Alex; if the bed didn't fall apart in the first few minutes, it would be worth it. Hell, maybe they’d actually get a real master carpenter or metalworker to build it. He could call it supporting the arts.

The app cheerily announced that his bed would be ready the next day.

Alex went to sleep that night eagerly anticipating the arrival of his bed. He didn’t want the game to be over so quickly, but it would be fun to see how they tried to wiggle out of having to deliver something so huge on such short notice. How would they even handle the request for a room to put it in? And if they did manage to get him his new bed, what the hell would he do with it? His Alaskan King was already too much for only one person to sleep in, but he could host a whole party for all one of his friend on the new one.

The doorbell woke Alex the following morning. He checked his bank account, and sure enough—a pending charge to CEL matched the amount the app had quoted him.

He opened his front door to find his head of security, clearly flustered. Jake, what is it?

Sir, I don’t know how it happened! I swear, I didn’t see or hear a thing. There isn’t even anything on the security footage!

Calm down, Jake. We’ll deal with it together. Show me what the problem is.

Jake led him around the house, where Alex was brought up short by a building that hadn’t been there before. Alex stared at it for a moment before starting forward.

Sir! It may not be safe.

It’ll be fine, Jake. I think I know what this is. Alex hoped he was right; he couldn’t imagine the alternatives. He opened the door and gaped at what he saw. A huge bed, twenty-five feet by twenty-five feet (he suspected; he’d have to measure to be really sure), sitting in the middle of a bedroom that could have come from one of those famous HGTV designers with how beautifully it was staged. There was another door on the other side of the room, which Alex discovered led to the rest of the house.

    He flopped down on the
