About this ebook

Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it!

Sam isn’t at all looking forward to his 23rd birthday—why would he want to celebrate another year of grueling, boring office work and striking out in dating? He hates his physique, and he can hardly even think about dating anyway, what with his confusing feelings for his best (straight) friend Mitchell. If only he’d been born a girl, he might have had a shot with him.

On the night of his birthday, Sam makes a wish for “true happiness” with a mysterious bathroom attendant and immediately feels a sense relief wash over him. But the relief turns to panic as he slowly begins to transform into a woman over the next several days! Sam has no idea what to do.

How will Sam navigate his slowly transforming body around his friends and coworkers, and what will Mitchell say when he finds out? This can’t possibly be the thing that will finally bring him the true happiness he always wanted... can it?

    Chapter 1

I'm telling you, man, you gotta get out a bit. Sitting at home all the time ain't gonna do you any good. Jeremy said. Sam sighed softly to himself as he listened to his friend speaking through the cellphone.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I know. I'm just, things are so hectic right now. Sam replied, scratching his head.

Well, then let's get wasted and you can relax a bit, alright? You only turn 23 once, after all. It's gonna be blast, mate. Jeremy said. Sam could hear the excitement in his voice, and didn't want to disappoint his friends.

Sam himself wasn't particularly keen on the idea of a birthday party. In fact, he wasn't very keen on the idea of a birthday in and of itself. All that it meant was that another year had gone by where Sam was just not achieving anything.

His luck in the dating field was awful, and that was when he had time to even go on dates, what with all the stockpiles of work he had to go through daily. Everything was just too overwhelming, and Sam was certain that a party wouldn't be the cure for his unhappiness.

Still, his friends were eager, and Sam didn't want to disappoint them.

Alright, yeah, let's do it then, mate. Sam reluctantly agreed.

Hell yeah, bud! It's gonna be a bloody blast! Don't worry, we're gonna have so much fun that you won't even think of your man cave again! Jeremy almost shouted into the cellphone out of excitement. Sam smiled softly to himself.

Well, at least I can make sure that they have fun.

Can't wait, buddy. I'll see you guys tomorrow then, hey? Sam asked.

Yeah, we'll all meet up at McLaughries at about six o' clock. Jeremy replied.

Alright bud, sounds good. See you then. Cheers. Sam pressed the little red button to end the call and then let his phone fall down onto the sofa.

Sam leaned forward with his face buried in his hands and let out a long, audible sigh.

What's wrong with me? My friends want to do everything to make sure I'm happy, and all I want to do is just stay home and play bloody video games.

Just as Sam's pity party was about to reach it's peak, the door of his apartment opened. Sam looked up and saw Mitchell entering.

Mitchell was Sam's roommate and best friend from Sam's childhood days. Sam had no idea how they ever became best friends, because they seemed to be polar opposites of each other. Mitchell was the quintessential manly man. He was quite muscular, tall, athletic, with the most well defined jawline and deep, hazel eyes that Sam had ever seen.

Sam, on the other hand, was quite small in stature. He wasn't exactly short, but was definitely always looking up to Mitchell's impressive 6 feet 1 inch length.

Sam was also never really the type for sports. He would much rather play the newest Blood Spirits or Call of Battle than run around on a football field.

Buddy, you look like shit. Mitchell laughed as he entered the apartment, closing the door behind him. And what's with all the darkness? Curtains can be opened, y'know. Mitchell continued as he walked towards the windows.

Hey, mate. Sam said with a soft smile. Whenever he saw Mitchell, it was as if his problems just slowly disappeared. Mitchell truly was the light in Sam's ever darkening world.

Sun makes way too much glare on the TV, man. Was waiting for you so we could jam some Blood Spirits. I got myself the new one as a birthday gift to myself earlier. Sam said, and he could see a
