    What is Keto Diet

    When we think of any particular Low Carb dietary plan, the word ketogenic instantly pops up in our minds. That is mainly because the Ketogenic diet is highly effective in its results. Many people find the ketogenic diet highly restrictive too, but that again helps in achieving better health goals. The diet originated as a result of experimental studies to treat patients of Parkinson or epilepsy through dietary changes. Researchers found out that having high fat and low carbohydrates in the diet can result in positive change in the mental and physical health of the patients. Those who opted this diet started to improve on their mental condition and other health symptoms were also observed in them. From there on Ketogenic diet started to take its present shape. All food items containing a high amount of carbohydrates were marked forbidden in the diet. Moreover, the focus was shifted towards fat as a source of energy. It was discovered that maintaining a low level of carbohydrates in the daily diet, and high amount of fat can force the body to metabolize using fat only, which releases three times more energy and releases ketones during their digestion.

    In a ketogenic diet, every meal should not contain more than 10-15 grams of carbohydrates
