Kasia Urbaniak teaches power to women--and her answers to these questions may surprise you. Based on insights from her experiences as a dominatrix, her training to become a Taoist nun, and the countless women she has taught to expand their influence, this book offers precise, practical instruction in how to stand in your power, find your voice, and use it well.

Insights from Chapter 1
#1
The author is a forty-year-old mother of two from New York. She spent seventeen years studying Taoism and becoming a Taoist nun, but in 2012, she started a school with Ruben Flores that teaches other women what she has learned about power.
#2
The book will teach you how to identify the life-force, the juice, the beautiful moving energy in every interaction, which is the key to understanding true desire. It will provide you with a constructive channel for all of the rage every woman has spent her adult life tamping down.
Insights from Chapter 2
#1
Women are angry, and with good reason. Women are constantly being asked to sacrifice, and it has become incredibly exhausting.
#2
The author identifies five obstacles that women commonly experience during conversations: the confidence gap, the interruption gap, the silence gap, the I’m not saying it gap, and the I can’t gap. These are all symptoms of the same underlying issue: women not being able to trust themselves to effectively advocate for themselves.
#3
The first step is to recognize that you want power, and the desire to be powerful comes from a place of strength. However, if you try to force yourself to be powerful, you will never truly be powerful. You will only have the illusion of power.
#4
Power is the ability to get someone to do what you want, whether it be for themselves or for you. It comes from influence, not control. You must be able to ask for what you want, and accept their refusal gracefully.
#5
You will feel most powerful when you can rely on yourself to speak, no matter how inappropriate the question or how badly it might offend you.
