We make hundreds of decisions every day. Some of them are important, and some of them aren’t. We need to analyze our decision-making process in order to identify the factors that influence our decisions and the outcomes they produce.

We often rely on our intuition and emotions when making important decisions. While intuition is undeniably beneficial in most situations, it complicates the decision-making process.

Humans act with emotion. We think with emotion. We deliberate with emotion. Everything we do is done from an emotional point of view. This may seem counterproductive, but it's a welcome trait. We need emotion to live meaningful lives.

Good choices are not just about obtaining sufficient information and methodically weighing our options. Good choices also incorporate our personal and professional values. When we allow our values to guide our decisions, we feel less troubled by the risks.

Every decision we make entails a trade-off: we gain something, but we also lose something. We must weigh the costs and benefits associated with each decision to determine if it is worth it.
