Hi! I’m Jo. I write character-driven steamy romance. My stories tend to come in serials because I love complications. I find nothing’s spicier than characters taking a life of their own.So prepare for adventurous scenarios, very sophisticated friendships, dangerous games, power plays, leading ladies, sexy tricksters, and handsome princes in distress. I like dark alpha males as well as vulnerable cuties. And my female characters tend to come with a rebel streak or a temper. Sue me.You can read stories out of order if you’re just here for a one-night stand. Or you can climb in for the entire ride, thrills, emotions and all. That’s up to you.Firsts in series will generally be free. When a story arc is done, bundles will ensue, and they will read like novels, with a Happily Ever After, or at least a Happy For Now. Stay tuned!

    No Rest for the Evil

I blew on my very strong, very hot, very black coffee, inhaling the bitter yet comforting scent and trying to pull myself out of sleep. A bleak dawn was reluctantly taking over the city and the small kitchen was the only lit place in the flat. This used to be the moment when numbers really talked to me. A cup of coffee and some early morning silence, and I'd feel like a superhero. I'd be able to solve all kinds of problems. Math problems. Physics problems. Relationship problems. This was a great time for strategic thinking and lightning strokes out of the box.

    But not today.

Today the equations were all swimming in front of my eyes and nothing made sense. I was so freaking exhausted.

I pulled on my wool socks, took off my glasses and rubbed my face, pulling the unruly curly hair away from my eyes. Wake up, Chloe, wake up. You can do this.

The math problem wasn’t really the issue here. The issue was that I had no brainpower left to focus on Math and Math wasn’t providing the sweet escape it usually brought me.

I heard a metallic clicking as someone turned a key in the apartment door. A moment later my roommate Adam appeared, radiating both cold and heat after what seemed to have been a very energetic morning run. His face and his hands were red from the cold where they emerged from the thermal running wear because we were still caught in the long trail of the Illinois winter. And his skin shone from exertion.

Usually he came back from a run with a huge smile on his face, but this morning he looked grim and tired. He walked to me and as I rose from my chair to meet him halfway, he kissed me.

Maybe it had been intended as a peck, but who were we kidding? He wrapped his arms around me just as I reached for his head and gorgeous dark red mane and we sank into the kiss together, relishing the feel of each other’s body. He burned like a small furnace and I swear I could feel the hard ridges of
