Six Steps to a Simple Life - Joe Beamon
An Intro
Over the years, I've read countless books and articles, watched interviews and self-help rants, and listened to people from all walks of life. Although some good information was obtained, it seems like everyone is over complicating the simplicity of life. It reminds me of how my kids do math now. What's two plus two? Well, two has multiple single entities, and the plus sign is a Greek symbol meaning, to bring things together,
and if you give those entities the power to attract each other with this symbol, the value of each, when together, determines the answer is four.
This frustration is what brought about this book. If you strip away all the excess information, and get down to what everyone is trying to convey, with my understanding, there are three basic principles I have come to live by.
They are:
Simple
Direct
Honest
Some of you are saying, what? It can't be that basic. You are correct. There are also six steps that I use to be able to accomplish these basic principles. The catch is, the six steps are implemented using these principles to easily maneuver through them.
The Steps:
1. Cleanse For Clarity
2. Identify the Honesty
3. Knowledge Not Fear
4. Budget to Enjoy
5. Focus On You
6. Act As If
So, to clarify, there are six steps, based on three principles, to help get your life in order. That's what I aim to accomplish here.
It's not a get rich book or a guide to your happiness. I don't know how to help you accomplish either of those for one simple reason. Both of these words, rich and happy, are relative. You determine what these words mean to you, and there's no right or wrong answer for either. We will touch on both of these later, and get a bit more clarity on how I feel about these subjects.
Now, I think it's important to know that I don't have a degree, or any formal training, on giving life advice. I'm not a scholar, whatever that means, and I'm very grateful for spell check. I am a person who has had the same struggles and frustrations as everyone else. I am someone who has been way up, and had the feeling that I couldn't get any lower. Most importantly, I am a
