I started from the beginning again and I’m on episode 3 and it’s reminding me how much power our thoughts have and what they create. But I’m realizing that right now I’m where I’m at because of my thoughts in the past year. But a good reminder that I need to change my mindset ASAP! I’ve been trying to listen from the beginning while I’m working in my office. I’ve been in such a bad place mentally the past 6 or 7 months and have been fighting to change my mindset so I decided to start over with the podcasts since it’s been a while since I heard your first ones. I’m trying to listen as much as I can throughout the day. It’s frustrating when you know all this AND have lived it and can attest that it works but you’re doing the complete opposite of what you know. Thank you for this podcast! xo Sandy (name changed) Thank you for your note! Many people are struggling with this. They know they need a positive mindset, but are really struggling and even fighting the negativity. It’s bombarding us - media, news, magazines, internet, social media, etc. Not a political statement - it’s been happening for a very long time. Look at movies, many are so violent and negative. They used to be feel-good and happy! Here’s what I see happening…you want to be positive and believe in yourself, but you’re having a hard time believing. You almost have to see it to believe it - and that’s backwards! You know it too! You know you want to be believing in yourself first, but can’t. So what gives? 1. Negativity around us is challenging. 2. You don’t have a system to help you daily. 3. You’re trying to force it and it’s not working. 4. You’re making it way too hard! 5. Deep down you might even think you’re not good enough or be afraid of failing or be afraid to make a mistake or be afraid of rejection or be afraid of being seen. Let me make this simple! IMO, the Law of Attraction stuff is off just a bit. It’s not about visualizing with enough emotion. It’s about having certainty. Let me say that again. Certainty! You have to get yourself to a place of certainty that you want this and will accomplish it. To become certain, you have to change your thoughts. You already know that, but HOW is where you’re struggling. To answer that question, let’s check in with who I think is one of the best mindset experts of all time: Mohammed Ali! That might surprise you, but I really respect his mental game! Mohammed Ali went from a humble fighter to World Champion. He’s known for his quips and confidence in himself. He used to say, “I’m pretty and I’m the greatest!” Let me share some of his other quotes: “He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.” “I know where I'm going and I know the truth, and I don't have to be what you want me to be. I'm free to be what I want.” - Stop trying to please others! This is YOUR life! “It's lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting challenges, and I believed in myself.” - Believing in yourself is KEY! “It isn't the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it's the pebble in your shoe.” Most of what holds us back isn’t the grand vision, it’s the small stuff we can’t get past. “What keeps me going is goals.” You MUST have written goals! And here’s what he said that I always say: “It's the r______ of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.” Internalize that!!!! Changing your beliefs is really about r_______! Like TV ads! Here are my steps to use affirmations: 1. Write them down in a positive way. 2. Use already t____ sentences in between. 3. Read them at least first thing in the morning and last thing at night. (Billionaire Jeff Hoffman puts them on a sticky note on his bathroom mirror). 4. Don’t make it harder than it is! 5.
