Glenda "Skip" Vogel
About the Author Glenda Vogel, called Skip by her friends, lives in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. She has four children; three of them had graduated from high school and two were already in college when she got divorced. It was a difficult time for the family without a father present, but with the Lord’s guidance, they saw that there is life after divorce. Skip is an RN working mostly in the operating room and emergency room. After the divorce, she worked as an RN, supporting herself and the children. During that time she went to bible school and became a licensed minister of the Gospel. Rev. Vogel is the founding director of a Single Again (divorce recovery) group, serving for twelve years (two groups with six years in each, training others to replace her as she moved on to other areas). After this, she went to the foreign mission field in Honduras, Central America, serving there for ten years. She also served for one month’s time in India, Niger, West Africa, and the Philippines; three months in Mexico; and four domestic ministries with the Native Americans. In all of these places, she did medical missionary work and/or taught in the mission’s bible school. She is retired now from foreign service but continues to counsel those who are newly divorced and visits missions every year for one month. Her life is proof that there is life after divorce, and it is possible, with God’s help, to become all you desire to be. Skip can be reached at her e-mail: crestwood60445@yahoo.com.

DEDICATION
A bove all, this book is dedicated to the love and caring of my children, who stood by me as together we grew through the time of our life crisis of my being single again.
In gratefulness, this book is dedicated to Pastor Phillip Epperson. He lovingly saw the need for help to the hurting single again people. He had confidence in me to become their leader.
And to the dozens of helpers the Lord provided to work with me. All of whom have remained close friends.
The work has been blessed by the support of my caring, plus the expertise, of my editor, Denise Gates. She is more than a business associate, she is a loving friend.
I have much to be grateful for; being surrounded by supportive and loving family and friends.
PREFACE
T hings happen. Then it’s time to take the next step. You find yourself single again. You were once married but it’s back to being single again. It is a difficult time.
Maybe you are at a time and place in your life you recognize that it is time for a change. It is time for you to gather your thoughts and begin to move towards the person you have always wanted to be. You can be all you desire to be. Do it now.
There are ways, things you can do to grow through these times. I am going to help you do just that, grow through these times. I can be trusted to do that because I have been there. I have worked through to a better, fulfilled life. You, too, can become more than you have ever thought you could.
I went on to become the woman I always wanted to be. Three years after my divorce I entered bible school and became the founding director of a ministry for Single Again Men and Women. You will find your place too. Hundreds of success stories have evolved from this ministry. Tangents run off in dozens of directions.
Twelve years later, I went to the foreign field as a medical missionary and bible teacher.
Giving out, serving others, doing what I do best, what I love the most, that is part of the secret. My Passions? Nursing and missions.
First, you deal with what is happening right now. Putting off your decision to work through these feelings will hinder your growth to your progress towards your more fulfilling life.
Our first objective is to restore, repair a damaged marriage. If the deed has happened, some helps are needed to get lives back in order. .
You are not stuck where you are. There are brighter days ahead…let’s get going!
You will become more than you think you are. More than what you are now.
This is not a self-help book. It is not something we work on our own and become better. There are real problems and situations that we need to address, and we do that by beginning with the Lord. We must have that relationship with Him. He is still on the throne, the throne of grace and mercy. We don’t do this alone. The Father God has sent the Holy Spirit to lead, to direct, and to comfort us.
We find ourselves in a new phase of life. The things that were, have changed. They are no longer the same. What was, is no more. Things are now different. Not always are we talking about being single again; in every life changes and growth are needed to be addressed.
This is the time to ask the Holy Spirit to draw near to us, allowing us to understand what we need to do. It is also a time to ask for grace to have the knowledge of His will so that we may be obedient and become all He intended for us to be.
The first step is to learn/practice prayer. When we pray, the Lord gets most of the attention. He will help us to work through all that has happened. He will lead us to a new place, to the new person that we desire to be. He will lead us through all circumstances.
That is why we can say, this is not a self help book
. We are partnering with the Holy Spirit. We call for His wisdom to get us to the new person that we want to be. It is impossible by ourselves. With God, nothing is impossible.
Now, doesn’t that encourage you? Nothing is impossible with God. He gives us strength, He gives strength to the weary and increases the power to the weak. (Isaiah 40:28,29) Can you use any of that?
We will work together and a beautiful life is yours. Again, it is a serious mistake to put off beginning your path toward your new life. The time is now. Don’t waste this opportunity, and let’s begin NOW.
