- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Knowing the Struggle is Over addresses the hardships of everyday life and the weight we put on our own shoulders to make things right. If I chose just a few words to describe this book they would be “a pep talk for life!” K.M. Johnson’s enthusiasm and passion for the things of the Lord shows forth all throughout the book. She shares her own struggles and the path that led to her finally “letting go and letting God” take care of everything. In Knowing the Struggle is Over, she describes her three step process:1.Stop Complaining2.Letting Go and Letting God3.Acknowledging HimK.M. Johnson’s writing style in this book is very personable, as if she is sitting across the table from the reader having a heart-to-heart talk. Her enthusiasm is contagious as she describes how to accomplish the goal of releasing the cares of the heart and embracing the compassion and love of God. Rich with scripture, the book will help the reader come to the realization that the fight has already been won, and the only thing left to do is rest in the peace and comfort of God. This is a good book not only for individuals seeking a life free from burdens, but also appropriate for gifts, small Bible study group, book discussion groups, or as a devotional.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Knowing the Struggle is Over! - Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, RepeatK. M. Johnson is a remarkable woman. She has been in the U. S. Army for 12 years. She served her first four years on active duty, the other eight in the Reserves. She recently completed her 12 month tour in Iraq. Whether you are man or woman, that's impressive to me. The hardships she has gone through in life and her way of handling life's battles has become an inspiration to me. Whenever I've had a hard day or life has thrown more problems at me than I feel I can handle, I simply ask myself "What would K. M. do?" I then pick up Knowing the Struggle is Over, read a couple of pages and feel much better. Through following the three simple steps suggested by K. M., I have developed the courage to face problems and start the process of dissolving them. Knowing the Struggle is Over has become a book that I keep on my bedside table. I highly recommend this book to everyone. ISBN# 978-1-4415-5942-5107 PagesXlibris Corp.

First I give honor to GOD. He is my healer, provider, and way maker. If it were not for His grace and mercy, I would not be here today! I especially thank GOD for providing me with the necessary skills and resources in order to make this book possible. I pray that He will continue to be the driving force in my life. I know that because of my personal relationship with Him, I gained the ability to share that journey with others. I forever honor and exalt His holy name. I pray that from these seeds that are planted a tree will sprout bearing much fruit! Amen.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Writing this book was a task for me. I would never have been able to finish it without the help of coffee, water, and Denny’s! I spent numerous evenings, especially towards the end trying desperately to finish within the timeframe I had set for myself. There were three people there that kept me awake! Thank you Tanya for keeping my coffee cup full, and doing your periodic check on, how many words do you have now?
Thanks Karlin for waiting on me even though, I always came when you were getting ready to change shifts! Also thank you Lee for reading my introduction over for me!
My acknowledgements would not be complete without mentioning my family, both biological and spiritual. I definitely have seen firsthand how God places the right people in your pathway at the right time! I also must thank my military family. The finishing touches were put on this book while I was deployed, and without their support it may have been delayed.
To everyone associated with the writing and final publishing of this book, Michele wishes to thank you for your varied effort, and dedication to making this one of the best books available!
PART ONE:
STOP COMPLAINING
INTRODUCTION
I puzzled over exactly what to write. Then I puzzled over when to write this book. Like most at first I was writing this book because I thought I had a lot to tell. It was painfully obvious to me that it doesn’t really make sense to go through things in life and never share your experiences with anyone. When I began this book I had only been on this earth for 28 years, but I can tell you some things those who have been here some 50 or 60 years may not have even experienced. The number one factor in me writing this book is GOD. Without Him this definitely would not have been possible. I have more than one testimony and I wanted to share them with as many people as I can!
I really am grateful to have this opportunity. Many people are given the stage on which to perform, but never actually enter onto it. I hope that you truly enjoy the contents, and finish this book knowing that YOU know the struggle is over. Sometimes it may seem hard to do these things that I’m about to talk about, but I promise you as long as you never forget who your provider, comforter, and healer is, you won’t have to worry. As I began to write this book, I maintained that it was spirit-led. I did not want to just write for the sake of writing. Instead I wanted to ensure that everything that is said is of value. With that said, this book is not full of things that I heard. They are about what I KNOW. I have a strong belief that you should never talk about what you heard, but talk about what you know, and why? Because you witnessed it for yourself.
I hope you also noticed that I did not say what you saw or see either. Hebrews 11:1 says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (KJV) This book is about FAITH. It is about the true, undeniable description of FAITH. Now if you are someone who doesn’t have it, keep reading. If you don’t believe in it, you too keep reading, and if you know it, saw it, felt it, lived it, honestly you keep reading too cause we all need a little extra motivation sometimes. As a matter of fact, when I was at church on Sunday, I remember the Pastor saying that even #1 still has to make improvements. With that I’m just saying, even if we have the most faith in the world, or the most optimism, or whatever, we still can continue to work on it and strive to be better. You started off on that path when you picked up this book.
I was so excited when God placed the idea for this book in my mind. I was actually in route to visit my family in Mississippi. As soon as I arrived at my mom’s house, I rushed in to tell her what I felt God was leading me to do. When GOD is doing something great and awesome in your life, we always want to run and tell someone. Or at least we should. All I had was an idea, and I had already turned it into so much more. It’s funny because ever since that day I kept feeling this overwhelming urge to go ahead and write something. When we actually take the time to hear what GOD is telling us, it can definitely be intimidating at first.
I’m really not trying to bore you to death with all of my rambling at the beginning. What I did want to do was show you that I am just like you, your sister, niece, mother, wife, fiancé, girlfriend, or daughter (and the list goes on). Yes I am a Christian. Yes I am Saved. And Yes, I am Human. Just like you I have made mistakes, ran from GOD, and my calling. I have done the opposite of what He has asked me to do, and I have refused to do anything at all!
I made that last statement for those of you who are reading this that feel it necessary to comment about what others are doing wrong in their lives, whether it is someone in your household, on your church pew, on your street, or in your office. (For some of you it may be all four and then some!) Remember, neither you nor I are perfect. We are only human and are less than perfect. We need to work on ourselves before we can worry about the work others need.
Fortunately we each have our own journey in which to take that God has placed us on. This journey will lead us each to whatever it is He has divinely purposed for our lives. If we keep that in mind it may make it easier for us to understand why what may be so simple for you is so hard for me, and vice versa. We each view life from a different angle, and mainly because we’re not all standing in the same position
