As you complete Volume I, I hope that you all begin to see that a part of me is a part of you and that no matter what we do our lives are made to be lived to the fullest. We are made to have fun. We are made to find joy, love, peace, and that DIVINE ENTITY!. Love is a part of life not just the love of people, but the love of nature, love for higher thinking, and even love when an error is made. Through all of this, we gradually put the pieces together to find inner peace. Think about this: When you came into this world what were you to do? If you didnt know as a child and no one clued you in what do you do? Now that you are older and we have the ability to reflect back and think forward by standing in the present moment. What do we do now? Thank you and I hope you enjoyed volume I. I will bring volume II to the world soon.

Dedication

Let me start off by saying, I really want to thank the reader’s in advance for joining me in my series of Soulsplitting. I think that my life’s travels has revealed several things to me. One, we are all on the this planet together and for what it is worth we are a human family regardless of our differences. There is so much more we have in common, we must find a way to reach it. Two, we all have life experiences that are similar. There is joy that light up our eyes. We reflect back and think forward about our lives and dreams. Pain is that one aspect we can not reduce. Just when you think you have mastered it something comes along that forces you to think deeper.

This series Soulsplitting takes you on this roller coaster of a ride and it all happens from the inside. In this series, these pieces will take you through my feelings of loss, joy, happiness, and pain but in the end you will feel my breakthrough. My mom is, was, and will always be my love and the main reason I am writing. Losing her ripped my spirit and physical existence in half so much so that I was losing myself in my surroundings. I lost my balance with my life and the dreams I had for her. I knew more than ever they were not going to be made manifest in this lifetime. Her passing gave me deep reflections about what it means to live, to give, and most of all to love.

Soulsplitting is the title that is appropriate because I felt there was a split in my physical and spiritual world. As I started these writings, I knew I had to make myself whole. My journey is your journey. My inner questions and searching for meaning are yours. I hope you enjoy this series of forever timely writings. We are all looking for internal peace. We are searching for this calmness in the midst of our trails. Maybe through these books, you will see a piece of yourself and begin to reconnect and put yourself back together one emotion at a time. Take it from me, you can never rush this process.

This series is dedicated to mom. The woman who loved me and no matter what I went through she was the life force that guided me until she left the earth. She always felt that I would make something of my life. I just have to keep it moving because I told her I would make my dreams materialize. Everything I do I do it in memory of her. To GOD, the one and only being I will ever love. I just want to give GOD a shot out. I just want to thank you for raining down into my brain these wonderful pieces of writing the world will read. I know I will make mistakes. I just want you there to pick me up when my world seems down. To James, Carrie, Brady, And Kathy I want you all to know that this work is out of love and the struggles we had as a family. I love you all.

Ladies and Gentlemen I want to take a moment and talk about my neighbor Amy M. Aviles. She was a poet, singer, artist and tattoo artist. Her life was filled with dreams. She was in the process of realizing her dreams but her life was ended by natural causes. We would talk about the steps to our success. We even dreamed of assisting each other along the way. She was working on her CD cover. Her most challenging aspect as she talked to me was to get her cover correct. She wanted to make it memorable. I told her to just keep trying you will get it! She is now gone but I will never forget her courage, spirit, and determination to complete what she had started. When she did one of her pieces at an event I held, she really moved the people there but most of all she made me feel good that I could count her as one of my friends. My love and peace to you Amy. I will always hold you down!

I want to thank Connie for contributing to my body of work. Each time she has added to my body of work. Her words fits with the timing and goes with the message. Her words will move you farther along the road to happiness. Ms. Shirley thanks for constantly telling me I will make it just remain humble. You always gave me support even when times for me was tough. I would like to thank Cheryl and Vannie for their constant motivation of my work every since they found out I was writing their love has been boundless. To Alabama State University I really want to say thank you for opening your doors to me. You took me into your learning arms and allowed me to believe that I could complete higher learning. ME! A young man who never thought it possible to go to college and complete it. You assisted me in making my mom proud and I am forever thankful.

To all my homies’ that did what they had to do to make me strong out here in this big world. I would not trade anything for my time growing up in the projects in my city. Phenix City, Alabama. Just the city itself is cool, I hope that children in our world can smile like we did, grow to know you can do what you want if you put the time, effort, and focus into it. To my aunts and uncles thanks for being who you are. Love is what children need.
