Author

Michelle Duffey

I am writing about my journey through this life to keep a promise to a dear friend and colleague, who insisted I promise to write this book to help others. I had shared with her my journey through a life-altering illness and the experience I had. She stated this had helped her not to fear death. I live in the Sunshine State, and it is my fondest desire to help others find faith in the darkest of moments. I am in prayer that my work can help others discover the awareness I have found. My next goal will be to create a business to help those without challenges to see the ability behind the disability of those who have challenges. This is to honor my daughter and another friend with challenges. They have helped me to see I am more than I ever thought I could be.

This book was written to honor a very special colleague of mine who left this earth way too soon. Sue was a nurse who dedicated her life to helping others. We had worked together for several years before she was diagnosed with cancer. Although we never met in person we shared our time, talent and tears together. We had a lot in common, Sue loved animals and people as much as I do. When she was diagnosed she had a great sense of fear as to what would happen to her after she passed on from this life.

I remember having very long heart to heart talks with her as she went through all the stages before one experiences physical death. The story of my life seemed to always make her have moments of great joy and laughter. As the end of her physical life was drawing to a close she made me make her a promise. The promise I was asked to fulfill would be to one day share the stories I shared with her by writing a book. I remember saying to her; Sue, come on, who would want to hear them?

Sue encouraged me by sharing with me that I helped her overcome her fear of death and she had gained awareness this is not the end.

Sue encouraged me to help others as she felt I had helped her. Every time I would feel insecure about it she would tell me it is your calling and would make me promise to write it.

This one’s for you Sue. I hope you are right in believing that this will inspire others!!

It is not the gifts we obtain in a lifetime that determine our wealth but rather the gifts we leave behind to better mankind. I am in prayer that others will feel the way Sue did and this book helps them see the beauty they will come to know.

I often say either way you will be ok. The reason for this analogy would be to testify that I have been blessed to see it from both perspectives, which will be explained throughout this book.

The one who understand that the gift of life is temporary, the gift of faith is eternal, is truly blessed with joy. When we leave our physical self, we become our spiritual selves that live on in the hearts and minds of those we leave behind.

I have said many times to others, There are no subsections in heaven. Jesus walked amongst all of us, the difference is some feel the need to forge their own way and choose to live in the flesh.

That is the gift of free will, we are given that right and privilege if we choose, and it is only when the flesh becomes too weak, one realizes how much they stand to lose. The good news is we still can turn it around and still be welcomed into the loving arms of the eternal love of our father in heaven.

This book has been created to show how faith has guided me throughout my whole life. I hesitated to write it at first for fear of persecution. I had to grow in my own faith to know that even in the midst of great joy and sorrow my savior is with me every moment of my life today, tomorrow and for all eternity.

My strength comes from that awareness. I cast my net out unto the sea and pray that it helps others gain or gain back the spirituality one needs to live a truly fulfilled and rich life.

I will use this analogy as a means to express my deep gratitude of the blessing my savior has given to me.

The journey through life is like a rose, the stem is your path. Along the way you will encounter the thorns.

One can choose to use the thorns to tear them apart and never finish what they start.

One could also see them for what they are meant to be. The thorns can be used as steps to help you get to the sweet smell of the bud of the Rose.

I created this analogy as a way to get through the tough days of my life. I pray it will help others as it has helped me. Sadly, many times, I used the first part and hesitated to do anything for fear of being torn apart. It was only after I realized the love I have been blessed to have been given that I can do all things by the love of the one who has risen!

I would like to thank God first and foremost for giving me life not once but twice. Thank you my precious lord for providing me angels along my journey. Sue thank you for making me make and pursue this promise.

Andres thank you for inspiring me to be more than I ever thought I could ever be. If it were not for your unwavering faith, love and determination I may have never realized my dream. Thank you for reminding me of what faith, love and determination
