Raised amongst mainly boys in a small conservative town in India, I would argue for girl’s rights and get stressed all the time”. In her early thirties, Radhika was diagnosed with Lupus. Lupus is an incurable auto-immune disease that affects mostly women. But, she was not the one to lose hope. She started practicing yoga and successfully put her disease in remission and pursue her dreams again. WHY FOLLOW

    THIS

    BOOK

Yoga enhances your beauty, and personal happiness and on the other hand self-defense gives you the strength and confidence to protect yourself from mishaps.

This book is a combination of Roses with thorns. If it’s important for a girl to look beautiful, then it’s equally important for her to know how protect herself and be bold. These days it’s not just about beauty; it’s also about career and walking shoulder to shoulder with boys. This is a complete guide that can help girls achieve their goals with strength and sanity. Yoga is as important for teenagers as it’s important for women undergoing menopause. At both these stages, we go through hormonal changes. There is no cure for these problems, yoga and meditation is the best way to curb it. Many problems start during your teenage years as your body and mind go through various changes. I was a train wreck as a teenager. I dyed my hair purple when I was thirteen years old, like an eighty’s punk. I did not fit in or feel accepted by my family, friends, classmates, and the world in general.

I was not alone in how I felt. It seems that everyone struggled during his or her teenage years. Even the teenagers who fit in faced challenges, especially during examination and competition periods in school and at work. They all underwent emotional and hormonal changes. Yoga affords many benefits and helps establish the foundation of a healthy and successful life. It balances out-of-whack hormones and makes you look and feel more desirable, increases your happiness, and facilitates your success in school, sports, and extracurricular activities.

Aside from success, we all aspire to beauty and independence. It’s a shame that the boys in our lives are allowed to do whatever they want and go wherever they please. Why shouldn’t girls have the same privilege? This question has always made my blood boil. My feminist father helped by imploring me to learn self-defense as a kid. Ever since I was a kid he would call me tiger, the king of the jungle, just to boost my confidence.

I became so proficient at self-defense that I found myself frequently protecting and beating my cousins, brothers and friends. No one ever dared to mess with me. I dressed however I wanted to as an expression of my freedom.

Strength doesn’t come from running or bodybuilding, but from the energy found in the body. For example a fast runner or a bodybuilder may not be able to break a brick with one hand, but a child could do so with the expert karate or judo training and practice.

The higher the energy level, the healthier and more confident one may feel.

This energy is called PranaThe vital force. Prana enters the body when you breathe, and all yogic exercises focus on our breathing patterns. If you introduce yoga into your life, you will become a calmer, cooler, more flexible, and more thoughtful version of yourself. This will pay handsome dividends for all of your academic and athletic pursuits, as well as for your self-confidence. You will need to be confident and calm when it comes time to defend yourself. Confidence can be even more powerful than a muscular body, which yoga will help you develop as well.

As you make your way through the book and begin your practice of yoga in real life, you will quickly realize the power of these exercises.

Because of yoga, I have overcome various health issues and succeeded on multiple fronts. My love of spontaneity and adventure
