    VIETNAMESE FOOD CULTURE AND INFLUENCES

    INTRODUCTION:

Great Vietnamese dishes and simple techniques and tips are sure to impress your family and friends every time. As everyone knows, Vietnamese cuisine is both wholesome and delicious; included herein are some of my favourite dishes, easy to prepare and sure to please even the most discerning palates.

I also share some of my secret sauces, with you to enhance your taste experience. As the title implies, I share my family favourites as well as dishes drawn from my years in 5 star restaurant properties. Try them all and let me know what you think.

Traditional Vietnamese cooking is greatly admired for its fresh ingredients, minimal use of vegetable oil and reliance on herbs and vegetables, with a balance between fresh herbs, meats and a selective use of spices to reach refined tastes. Vietnamese food is considered one of the healthiest and lightest cuisines, worldwide.

Due to historical contacts with China and France, Vietnamese cuisine shares many of its characteristics with both culinary styles. The Chinese introduced many dishes to Vietnam but, over time, as with French dishes, these were adapted to suit Vietnamese circumstances.
