Shai Gourmet: It’S Love Made Edible

About this ebook
I personally used to think of healthy food as bad tasting food, and I wouldnt blame you if you had that fear towards it too. However, consider this: the creator of these recipes comes from a diverse background. In other words, I am the result of the East meeting the West, and therefore, I do have a unique taste for spices and food. I always say, One third of your salary is spent on food, so choose what you eat wisely.
In the process of making this book, I considered ingredients that are common and easy to find in your local grocery store. So how you want to live your life is your choice, and if you decide to couple these recipes with your workout routine and goals, you would simply maintain your weight, lose it, gain muscle, or get fit while enjoying awesome tasty food.

22417.pngCHAPTER 1: ABOUT ME AND THIS BOOK
Chapter%202.tifMy name is Ibrahim Zainal. A simple guy from Saudi Arabia with a gigantic imagination. I am neither a dietitian nor a doctor but I love food, I love eating right, and I surely believe in the power of smiling. I know what it feels like to be uncomfortable in your own skin as I used to be overweight myself. During my teens, I tried many forms of diets and exercises and it felt like I am going from one epic failure to another till I gave up on the idea of getting fit. Researching the topics of diet, food and exercise for years led me to these conclusions:
• Strict diets do not really work!
• We need food to burn food
• Natural fat is not the enemy
• Counting calories and going below 1000 calories eating habit is the worst thing you could possibly do to your body and self.
As an engineer, I am guilty of the idealism of measuring the outcomes of what I plan in prospect to my goals. Therefore, I decided to study the concept of food itself; Gastronomy, to understand how food affects our bodies and how to fully benefit from the raw ingredients. I realized that my issue was not in what I’m eating but how I am eating.
I knew how to cook but I changed the traditional way of cooking. At first my friends and family thought I was being silly for spending this much time and energy into my cooking but they surely loved the taste of what I made. My secret in creating my recipes was and still is that I imagine the taste in my head first then I go on a scavenger hunt for the ingredients. I check what I have in my refrigerator and cabinets; I line them up and let my imagination flow. I learned from my failing attempts and I never gave up to my desperation. I always thought of my failures as another chance at perfection
Through out the years, I also realized that what we eat not only affects our body but it also affects our moods as such that so-called comfort food is not after all that comfy. I realized that combining the right food with the right exercise is the way to go. I practiced all different types of workouts and I found myself in YOGA. I practice other forms of exercises such core/body strength workouts but I connected with Yoga on a completely different level. I
