    Just in case you picked up this book and were trying to decide if this was a book you might want to read, I’m here to tell you that it definitely is. While the verbiage of my book is pretty much geared to women—simply because I am a woman and that’s what I know the most about—I don’t want that to be the reason you choose NOT to read it. I believe that everything I talk about in these pages is just as important for men as it is for women. We are all different. We are all individuals. And we all must find what works best for us when it comes to weight loss and weight management.

    If you buy my book, start to read it and find that it really isn’t for you, let me suggest that you pass it on to a female friend. I’m sure she will not only find the book valuable for her, but she’ll probably think you’re a pretty neat guy for giving it to her!

    Setting the Ground Rules

    I’m really tired of seeing all of those books out there, written by famous actors and actresses that talk about how they lost weight. Like they’ve got some special secret that only they found out about and now you have to read their book if you want to do the same. Well, I’m here to tell you that there’s no special secret. They don’t have the market cornered on how to lose weight. In fact, most of them have lost those same pounds over and over and over and over again. Only this time, they decided that even if it doesn’t work permanently—because none of the other times did either—they’re at least going to make some money telling you about it. And the part that bothers me the most is that we, the unrich and unfamous public, believe that just because they did it with this one particular diet, we should be able to do it too . . . as if their current success is a guarantee of ours. Ladies, come on. We’re better then that.
