About this ebook

This book is for anyone who needs a change from their current situation, whether abused or just unhappy with their current state of affairs. Believe Nothing is Impossible and all bad times shall pass.
Always be aware that you are not alone in your sorrows. There are many people throughout the world in a similar position. Also that there are many people out there which have come through the worst ever and are now living very rewarding lives. This I know from the motivational books I have read and from my Around the World trip where I witnessed so much. Especially that people are the same wherever you go. They also have dreams and aspirations, as well as their own struggles in life and battle to find a way forward.
I will use my passion and knowledge of architecture to depict the stages of building a house to become a home, in juxtaposition to build a new life or strengthen our existing wellbeing. Additionally, this will portray my account of how our attitude to life can be refined in a similar way... Highlighting there is a season for everything as well as a possibility to change your life and not others. Although inadvertently this will happen when you do change, for mutual respect will be born.

    INTRODUCTION

    About The Book

This book is not being written as a great novel because I do not classify myself as a ‘Writer’. However, I do write this book as an inspiration for all that read it, to know that we can rebuild our lives no matter how young or old we are. It is in believing the possibility and the yearning to live a more rewarding life that will help you do so. I write with true passion to help you by expressing some events that occurred and my findings I encountered, which have changed my life. This book has helped me so much in the sense that it encouraged me to have a reality check throughout writing each stage as it forced me to take action as well – practice what you preach. It also brought me back to the awareness that there is always hope, especially if there is a plan and steps taken to reach the goal set out to live a better life. Not forgetting taking control of our lives and believing we can.

Please note here that there is hope to change our lives and not others attitudes towards us, although inadvertently this will happen because they will respect us more.

I will use my passion and knowledge of architecture to depict the stages of building a house to become a home, in juxtaposition to build a new life or strengthen our existing wellbeing. Additionally, this will portray my account of how our attitude to life can be refined in a similar way…

I.e. finding the building site and understanding the terrain is comparable to ‘Realization and finding the best way forward’.

In this book, I will go through the seven stages of appreciating when and how to make a firm decision on what you want or desire, and to understand how important it is to keep that as your focal point as you work through the stages. The way I have written this book will also give you a sense of what is the next step to take. The first chapters are dense and very involved because I try and help you grasp my points. Give yourself a moment to absorb and reflect on my words and relate them to your own circumstances. As we progress the chapters get shorter, for this is when I compromise and let you use your own understanding to grasp control of your life. This book is not to be rushed through, take your time reading this manuscript and promote the guidelines to your own life.

It is a known fact that we will all reach a point in our lives where we feel frustrated or broken by bad events. So understand that you are not unique in this, as well as there is a way to improve your status by working with the help offered to eradicate low self-esteem.

Undoubtedly, you may feel confident enough to stop going through the stages presented here and go at it on your own … please resist!! You will land up right back in a state of confusion. There are many ways to skin a cat but regardless of whichever way you do, the ultimate goal is to skin the cat. So why complicate your life? Just stick to a plan, do it gradually and concede that it takes one step at a time to advance in any way.

There will be times you may think, ‘Oh this is stupid’ I cannot do this anymore, which is when I would like you to look back and see how far you have come. You may have taken many steps to achieve what you want and most importantly, you took control of your life. Do you really want others to be in control of your life? Hang in there! It is the same as when your body hurts whilst exercising because you have not exercised them for a long time! Smile, just one more step and you will be closer to success.

The book is meant for you to read and work through stage-by-stage or just read it straight through if you wish, and use it as a back up to refer to when you are feeling low. At many stages/occasions you will note that I will talk to you as though I am there with you, pricking your conscious, this is to help push you ahead not to give up.

I am happy that I have written this book as it has and is still helping me to do a rain check on myself when I experience a low swing. It keeps me from slipping back into another dark place -the ‘pit’¹, which is so hard to get out of.

I would like to point out that this book is for anyone who needs a change from their current situation, whether abused or just unhappy with your current state of affairs. My best wishes go to you all as you go forward in building a brand new life. It is important for you to remember that you are not alone in your sorrows. There are many people throughout the world that are in a similar position, and there are many people out there that have come through the worst in life and are living now very rewarding lives. This I know from the motivational books I have read and from my around the world trip I witnessed so much. Especially that people are the same wherever you go. They also have dreams and aspirations, as well as their own struggles in life and not able to find a way forward.

Are you ready to build your ‘New Life’? Lets go for it!

    My Testimonial

    My losses

I would like to share with you a brief insight as to why I have decided to write this book. Most importantly, the main reason is to help anyone who is in low self-esteem mode. To enable me to do this, I feel it is only fair that you know the triggering factors that incited me to write this book and the style it is written in.

From the onset of the new millennium I experienced so much pain as a result of my immediate family issues. I had no option but to leave my country of birth, losing our entire life security. Unfortunately, for circumstances beyond my control, I could not have my mother with me, and her passing a few years later just compounded on my pain of failure.

After settling in Europe, and finding employment, I soon realized there was a more intense battle ahead of me in terms of my ethnicity, country origin as well as age discrimination in relation to work. To crown it all, my marriage of 41 years came to a long drawn out end. I was mortified! Being jilted for someone very much my junior just pushed me over the edge. It was a difficult period of my life dealing with so many losses, along with a total lack of respect; it was just too much to bear. This put me into a very low self-esteem. I landed up with weight problems, emotional breakdowns and my health just plummeted down hill; yet another problem to bear.

    Realization

Since the divorce I spent many moments trying to figure out what I meant to him in all those years? Trying to fathom out why he treated me the way he did, making promises that were never kept, and uttering statements like ‘you are a wonderful mother and wife’. Was this some form of abuse? I have now faced the raw reality that the reason he treated me so bad was because I allowed him to. Also unbeknown to me then it was the universe way of pushing me to take control of my life.

A notion I now believe is that men cannot accept a woman to leave them, because it
