About this ebook
I wrote this book to help people develop themselves and lead happier, more peaceful and more successful lives. I structured the tools in what I felt was the most appropriate manner to find more contentment with life. I hope that you enjoy the book and will share it with family and friends. I will be donating a portion of the proceeds to cancer research in honour of my father who was an incredible teacher and man, and who recently passed away from cancer. It is my deepest wish to see everyone succeed and be happier and healthier. I wish you all the best.

Foreword:
I would like to dedicate this book in loving memory of my father. He was a great teacher that showed wisdom, love and warmth to all; he will be dearly missed and was an essential part of my life. I love you and miss you.
Before you begin on your journey, I want to share with you some of my own life experiences and give you an idea of what I would sincerely wish for you in your own life. Life is meant to be enjoyed and be abundant in all areas! Money, love, happiness, and satisfaction - all these things are there for the taking. Far too many of us operate on autopilot and are miserable. I do not want to sell you that latest, greatest, shiniest thing that will exhilarate you in the next 10 days or help you lose 30 pounds in 30 days. This is a marathon, not a sprint, so pace yourself as you read, and I sincerely hope that you get value from what I am sharing. One thing I can promise you though is that if you practice using the tools that I am sharing; your life will improve! How much depends on how diligently you apply yourself. The more you practice though, the better things become. It is just like lifting weights at the gym. At first it may be hard, and it may hurt, but the harder you work at it, the better it becomes and the better your results will be. The more you refer to what I am outlining, you will attain a better quality of life. This is my most ardent wish for you!
My deck is my happy place, my temple of peace. It is where I go to allow myself to go deep into thought, to run scenarios through my mind, determine the likely outcomes and to plan for my future goals. It is my holy place, as it were. Friends like to come there to spend time with me and talk, in some cases to run their ideas by me or just to feel that same peaceful energy and share a laugh or two or maybe just have a drink. I built it with that idea in mind. Granted, it can’t be used eight months out of the year due to our lovely Saskatchewan weather, but I live for it when it is nice enough to be out there. Being in nature brings peace, and I feel connected to all things there. Well, except for maybe the mosquitos; no one likes those pesky buggers. My deck is where I sat and formulated the book you are currently reading. It is from my experiences, all the advice I give and the advice of my support network (aka my tribe). I wanted to share with you to hopefully help you find your inner peace and happiness, and maybe even build your own temple of peace. I feel my cup is full to the point of overflowing and this allows me to hopefully help you fill your cup with peace and love, until that it too, is full to the point of overflowing and you too, may help others.
How do we get ahead in life? How do we get to where we want to be? How can we be happy? I often asked myself these questions over 22 years ago when I started my own personal journey. They haunted me and kept me awake at night. You see, I was living in Newfoundland, barely surviving and depressed for many reasons. Those were dark times for me. I worked my butt off trying to succeed by often working 60 hours a week or more, but success always seemed to elude me. Twice in my life, I was on my last dime and almost had to pack it in and be homeless. Later, I lived through a near mental breakdown and a divorce. That was not what I wanted my life to be! I realized that there had to be an easier way, and I knew that if I was going to get ahead, that it would require massive life and philosophy changes!
The realization that I wanted more, just as I am sure you are currently feeling in your own life, was a driving force. I was not happy! I was not where I felt I should be in life and ultimately, I felt powerless to change it back then. This was when I started my personal journey and discovered the tools that I am now sharing with you to hopefully empower you to get ahead and to make the changes that will lead you down the road to your own personal success. In addition to all the tools I am outlining in this book, I am also sharing some of my own experiences from my own personal journey.
I would suggest that you have some paper and a pen around when you start to formulate your own plan to help highlight and address those tools you feel you need to intensify in your own life. I had a working knowledge of about half of them, but when combined, they helped me launch myself into a successful, happy and abundant life.
This book is intended to help give you a structure to follow and to reference. It can be for something as simple as removing a roadblock in your path to success, to a complete rework of yourself even if you are starting at rock bottom (as I did). Regardless of where you find yourself on your journey, you should know that you can and will succeed if you apply yourself with these tools. I truly hope that the tools work for you as they did for me and you will find your own peace, love, wealth and comfort!
The first tool to getting anywhere in life is acceptance. You must first accept that things are what they are! Until we admit there is a problem in how we are going about doing things, we cannot create meaningful change. Understand that whatever we are focusing on is what we will see. Focusing on poverty? Life will bring you more if it. Focusing on pain? Life will deliver more of it. You see, one thing that I learned the hard way is that there is a duality to life. Two sides to a coin…. yin and yang. For every negative, there is a positive and for every positive a negative. The more I learn about the levels of acceptance, the better my life becomes. The key in that, though, while taking your first steps, is to understand that life is a mirror. Whatever you are giving off will be returned to you. If you go through life miserable, playing the victim and blaming others, then life will reflect that back to you. You need to start with yourself! You may hate your body, or you may hate your life, but you and you alone are responsible for changing it. Until you learn to love yourself for who you are (faults and all) you will not be able
