Did you ever get the feeling that you’re on the wrong bus?
That question is what finally started me on my journey of transformation.
I had been feeling torn, lost, and confused as to how to explain to people what I was feeling about where I was in my life. You see, by all accounts, I was very successful. I had a good career. I was financially independent. I travelled overseas every year. I had great friends as well as family security. But I had this dull, constant, gnawing feeling of discontent and a lack of fulfilment in my life. And I couldn’t articulate it.
Until someone else articulated it for me:
Did you ever get the feeling that you’re on the wrong bus?
Yes. That simple question, asked in a Facebook ad, resonated so strongly in me. Finally. That simple question captured precisely how I was feeling.
I was on the wrong bus.
My life was travelling along, but I was on a journey not of my own design. I had somehow gotten onto the wrong bus.
And what was worse, I had simply settled for that journey.
For me, that realisation was big. But what came next was even bigger.
I made a decision to get off that wrong bus.
This was the critical step. And it’s a step that most people won’t take.
You see, when you realise that you are living a life that doesn’t feel as though it is truly yours, it’s scary to step up and take responsibility to make it yours.
After recognising that their life is not going in the direction they want, people will often get stuck in simply blaming others for getting them into this predicament. Then they’ll come up with all sorts of excuses as to why they can’t make the changes needed in order to get onto the right path—or get onto the right bus:
• It’s too late.
• I’m too old.
• I missed my opportunity.
• I have too many responsibilities.
• That’s just a dream. This is reality.
And on and on.
But the truth is that it’s not too late. You’re not too old. You haven’t missed your opportunity. You can make changes and manage your responsibilities. You can turn your dreams into a new reality.
I learned these truths.
And that is why I have written this book. To share what I have learned so that others can also stop settling for a life they don’t want and create a life they would love.
Know this: Your feelings of longing and discontent are there for a reason. They are prompting you to get your life on track. They are prompting you to get off the wrong bus and to not only get onto the right bus, but to sit in the driver’s seat and take accountability for getting you to your chosen destination.
This book contains twelve steps to create the life you are meant to be living.
Twelve steps? It sounds too simple to be true.
Yes, the steps are simple. And they work. But that doesn’t mean it will be easy.
I’m not going to kid you and tell you it’s going to be a gentle ride you are about to embark on. You are going to have to get really honest with yourself and face some things about your own beliefs and thinking habits that have gotten you to exactly where you are today.
Some of those have served you well. Others, well, not so much.
So, although this won’t always feel easy, it is worth it.
Now, given that you’ve picked up this book and gotten this far into reading it, I’d like to acknowledge your courage in taking this first step in your life transformation.
If you’ve read this far, perhaps something has resonated with you. And that’s not a coincidence. There are truths that we recognise at a spiritual level; you might call it your inner knowing or your gut instinct. However you choose to label it, there’s an internal part of you that has recognised and acknowledged that something in your life has to change.
So this is it. This is where you get to decide what you would love for your life. And you get to create it.
The system works, if you work it. This system is based on foundational principles already laid out in the world’s religious traditions and teachings as well as more recent quantum physics discoveries. What I have done is create an easy-to-follow structure for these foundational principles so you have steps to follow to help you design and create your fullest and truest life.
These principles have helped countless people completely transform their lives, and if you commit to completing each of the steps, I believe that you, too, will
