Mayhem

When I awoke I found him sitting there distant. With his back to me. His hand to his head. Frantically scribbling in that gold journal of his. Facing a bright wall of sunlight. My eyes ached. Where were we? We were no longer in the lab to be sure. Ah, it was his study. He had moved me in. I glanced down and found myself in a well made-up bed. Well-tended too as if it was my own private hospital room. There were flowers even. My body felt numb. The drip-drip, I was still plugged in intravenously. My mouth was like Gandhi's flip-flop, mate. Dry till it hurt.
