Preface
LOSING EXCESS WEIGHT, or more accurately called lipids (i.e., fat), is easy. Of course, for me it is. However, if you happen to be like my friend who exclaimed to me "losing weight is one of the hardest things I have done in my life! You work at it every day, every hour, every minute, every second! Sometimes you just have to eat a piece of cake!" Then, I suppose it must be harder than I think.
Let me clarify myself then. Losing weight can be done if you work at it. (Sorry for jumping to conclusions! My oh my.) Yet, to lose weight you must know and apply the correct principles. This can be done. Especially with this tried, sure method, which I call dining maintenance.
There is a sure scientifically verified way to lose two pounds of fat each week. This is done through a diet of low-fat balanced meals. Any other diet is a fad and can be harmful to your health. Some fad diets are more hazardous to [your] health than obesity[1].
The fad diets cause protein (muscle) and water to unnecessarily and harmfully leave your body. No one should lose muscle and water during a diet. What a person needs is to dine normally, lose the fat, and get thinner (and healthier) week by week. Keep working at this dining maintenance each day, week by week, and soon you will be lighter, thinner, and should be looking and feeling better.
My friend, Betty[2], lost 30 pounds during the first 18 weeks she was enjoying this practical dining maintenance. This is a low-fat diet, yet you eat normal meals and snacks, so I refer to it as a dining maintenance. Let this solidly established method work for you!

A Diet? What's A Diet?
I BELIEVE THAT GOD Almighty has provided many delicious foods and drinks for us to enjoy. He loves us. Why wouldn’t he give us tasty morsels and drinks? You can enjoy these foods and drinks while losing the excess weight you desire to lose. Listen to what He says:
Yea, for food and for raiment, for taste and for smell, to strengthen the body and to enliven the soul. And it pleaseth God that he hath given all these things unto man [and woman]; for unto this end were they made to be used, with judgment, not to excess....[4]
Wherefore, verily I say unto you that all things unto me are spiritual, and not at any time have I given unto you a law which was temporal; neither any man, nor the children of men; neither Adam your father, whom I created.[5]
Losing weight has correct principles, that once applied, work. As you read this book and begin to understand the principles of what various foods and drinks are made of (e.g., carbohydrates, proteins, and fats), you will get a better insight on how this low-fat diet really works.
One sure way to reward yourself is to track your weight weekly. For example, weigh in on one day a week (e.g., Saturday) and mark your weight on a chart (see next page for a blank chart for your use). As the weeks go by, you will see your success!
