Introduction
People tend to overthink about everything that happens or is said to them. Have you ever been in a situation where someone's words have stung you long after the conversation? Do their words or actions resonate with you like they have woken your spirit up from a rude shock? There are probably many other situations that you have been in, where you were stuck on what was said or done to you. So, stop right now! Do not think about those situations! This is the first sign that you are overthinking.
People tend to overthink because of an emotion, event pardon experience that they may have faced in the past. For example, the characters in the movie 'He is just not that into you' constantly analyze every single thing that happens in their lives. They focus on minute details and over analyze them until they turn themselves crazy. They do this because of some past events. Nicole Kidman's character constantly checks her husband's shelf to ensure that he is not the one who is smoking. Her father passed away because of lung cancer, and she does not want her husband to meet the same end. While she was focusing on whether or not her husband was smoking, he was out having an affair. She missed the signs that were right in front of her because she gave in to her fears. You may also be doing the same thing.
When you overthink or overanalyze the situation, you will lose sight of what is actually happening. Instead, you will focus on how the emotion is making you feel, and you will react in that manner. You will not focus on the present. When you overthink, you will find it difficult to get out of bed every day and deal with daily life. This will lead to depression and anxiety. It is important to remember that your mind is the most
