The most important things when it comes to lead the process of negotiation and make it effective is indeed the art which the negotiator beholds. This art can be learned but requires effort and time. Once you master this art, then the world would be at your feet as you can conquer any opponent!
Summary
Negotiation is a method which has been used for decades to resolve conflicts between parties in an optimal manner. It tries to work for the benefit of all parties involved. Thus it leads to the division of resources and agreement over solution which is acceptable by all. It involves communication between parties through which they suggest different solutions. Then through the use of tactic and strategies and a series of offers and counter offers an agreement is reached. Each party use their own tactics and employ various strategies to get maximum benefits.
Negotiations are omnipresent and can is applied in all sectors of life. It can occur both overtly and covertly. It mainly involves 5 stages which are:
1. Preparation of environment
2. Presentation of suggestions
3. Justification to support suggestions
4. Bargaining to reach a comprise
5. Agreement on a final solution
