About this ebook

Mothering is a sacrifice that demands one’s life! In attempting to be an effective mother, one needs to be intentional about strategising well to fulfil this sacred and honourable calling. Practical mothering is, however, not a permanent state, so it is essential for one to prepare and be ready to step into the other areas of one’s calling when the time comes. Wisdom for Mothers is a God-inspired book from a mother who wants to encourage other mothers to be their very best in their parenting and also to be ready and well-equipped for all the other callings God has ordained them for.

Many mothers have fallen into the trap of non-achievement because they were not prepared for their next assignment after their children were grown up and didn’t need their active contributions. Unfortunately, situations like this have led to despondency, regrets, and disappointments in the life of the mothers concerned. However, with proper planning and preparation, the story can be different. Wisdom for mothers will show you how to balance being a mother and, at the same time, invest in yourself for the next phase. You will learn principles, disciplines, and be inspired to be your very best in all your endeavors without compromising on the most important things of life.

    Dedication

I dedicate this book to my mother, Bridgette Abena Somuah. Thank you for your extreme sacrificial love for your children. You gave your all to ensure your children got the best. I am forever grateful for your life and pray that God will continue to bless you in every way.

    Acknowledgement

I give all glory, honour and praise to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the lover of my soul. I owe every good thing in my life to You Lord.

This book wouldn’t be here if not for the enormous support and encouragement of my loving husband, Pastor Joseph Boakye. Thank you for all your support.

I would like to appreciate and honour my spiritual father, Rev. Dr David Antwi. I am a partaker of his grace and well-fed by his rich life transforming anointed messages and guidance. Thank you, Pastor.

I honour my spiritual mother, Rev. Awo Antwi, who recognised the gift of writing in me. I would have never attempted to write if you had not said I could. I am so grateful to God for your life, thank you for seeing treasure in me.

The enormous input of my father and mother Rev.K.T. Bossman and Rev. Mrs. J.E. Bossman in my life will never be forgotten. Thank you for showing me the importance of family and ministry.

I also want to thank and honour my biological parents, Mr Prince Kwame Wiafe, and Ms Bridgette Abena Somoa for being there for me.

My appreciation also goes to Rev. Celia Apiagyei Collins of Rehoboth Foundation. Your exemplary lifestyle of living with a vision has inspired me.

Thank you to my three beautiful daughters, Sheryl, Elizabeth, and Josette. Without the three of you, I would not be a mother.

My gratitude also goes to my siblings Sandra, Prince, and Kevin for cheering me on

I am also grateful for all my friends and church family; you have been a righteous influence in my life.

Finally, I would like to appreciate Vike Springs Publishing Ltd, London-UK. Thank you for the professionalism in the editing, proofreading and designing (interior and cover design) of the book, as well as the immense advice and support in making my first publication a smooth process, and a reality.

    Forward

Not all mothers will receive public appreciation for their hard work and sacrifice at an award ceremony, but every mother should hear thanks mum, I love you, mum, or I appreciate you, mummy.

These short phrases can be the most treasured words a mother may hear, but they sometimes come after the sacrifices and hard decisions a mother may have taken for the benefit of their child. Though difficult, the joy of every mother is to see their children do well.

In Genesis 25, Rebecca felt the struggle of her sons in her womb; she inquired of the Lord, and the Lord told her the destinies of her unborn children. This revelation informed her of how to raise her sons.

Hannah determined the future of her son, prophet Samuel, before the child was even born. This was a covenant between a mother and God, and God honoured it.

Motherhood is a journey, and God has given Wisdom for Mothers to help guide you on this important journey. This book will teach you, inspire you, and equip you for this journey.

God wants to speak to you about His purpose for your child/children as a natural, adopted, foster, or spiritual mother. May this book be one of your treasured means by which you hear from God.

    Rev. Awo Antwi

    Associate Senior Pastor

    Kharis ministries
