This book is also dedicated to all those who look to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for His Plan and His Goals for their lives, believing, and having the faith that He absolutely ‘finished what he started’ when He died on what should have been our Cross, exclaiming, "It is Finished (John 19:30 – KJV)", and STAMPED on the devil’s forehead those awe-inspiring Words, and the fact that it DEFINITELY was finished by His third day Resurrection, knowing that no matter how long it takes, they too can Finish what they start
! Enjoy!
JESUS SAYS YOU CAN Finish What You Start Foreword
Andrea R. Williams
Many people have great ideas and lofty goals they wish to accomplish in life. Those same people may find that time and time again, they just aren’t able to see their dreams realized. James McMorris II understands their plight and has penned a great book - just for them. Finish What You Start is a well-written and thorough book with all the tools needed to set the reader on a path of completion. Finish What You Start is an impressive writing for the third-time author and provides essential elements for those wishing to dust off those dreams.
Finish What You Start gives practical application - in detailed steps – to help the destiny-seeker move from point A to point B. Instead of providing a roadmap to success, McMorris chooses another way to encourage the reader. He points out frequent pitfalls to accomplishing dreams and tackles each one head on. He starts the book with the chapter, Taking the First Step
, which has the reader ponder their God-given mission. This chapter sets the tone for the entire book and from the start, it’s clear that this book is chock full of scripture. Not a surprise since McMorris hails from a family of pastors, ministers, evangelists, and Sunday school teachers. He himself is a Masters of Theology student and it’s clear that his knowledge of the Bible is vast. Backing up his advice with biblical wisdom only helps to solidify his reasoning with other topics as well.
Other roadblocks to finishing what we start are things such as worry, fear and doubt and the author provides numerous reasons why the believer should have none of these. Reminding us that these emotions are sent by the enemy to thwart our progress, McMorris provides spiritual insight that attacks each of one of these weapons in Satan’s arsenal. He speaks on trust in God and how that plays a key role in completion of tasks.
Never straying from the basic elements of faith, McMorris consistently brings the reader back to praying and reading the Word and lets people know that guidance comes with communication from God. Faith and confidence are mentioned as well and he talks of how both need to be present for success. He recounts the story of Elisha’s servant eventually seeing the armies of God that were sent to fight with he and Elisha, reminding the reader that God has sent help to accomplish all that He has put our hands to do. Healing, pleasing God and resisting the devil are covered as well and he gives the reader all that’s needed to receive and do these things.
Many will enjoy this book. McMorris plays the role of preacher/cheerleader/motivational speaker in Finish What You Start and leaves the reader uplifted and inspired, almost inspired enough to leap small buildings in a single bound. He also makes sure believers know that God is with them every step of the way and has already given them everything they need to accomplish whatever He has called them to do.
‘Jesus Says you can Finish What You Start’ is perfect for those who find themselves stuck with a clear knowledge that God has more for them to do. Following the steps that McMorris has outlined in this book will help the believer reach their goals.
