About this ebook

Using 10 steps from her popular workshops, counsellor Bev Aisbett provides you with practical, sound advice on how to recognise and tame anxiety, whether it affects you just occasionally or every single day.
Do you beat yourself up over mistakes? Do you often worry, worry, worry? Do you tend to expect the worst? Do things have to be perfect before you can enjoy them? Do you have a belief that life is hard? Are you overly concerned about what others think of you? Do you compare yourself to others? Do you find it hard expressing your feelings, especially anger? Do you give more than you get? Do you look after others more than you do yourself? Are you critical of yourself and others? If you answered 'yes' to even half of these questions, would you say that your life and emotions are in balance? Anxiety isn't a punishment - it's a wake-up call, and you can do something about it! Using 10 steps from her popular workshops, counsellor Bev Aisbett provides you with practical, sound advice on how to recognise and tame anxiety, whether it affects you just occasionally or every single day.

Bev Aisbett

Bev Aisbett, a trained counsellor, is the author and illustrator of 17 highly regarded self-help books for sufferers of anxiety and depression, most notably the national bestsellers Living with It: A Survivor's Guide to Panic Attacks and Taming the Black Dog: A Guide to Overcoming Depression. These titles are distributed to health professionals nationwide and have been sold in English in the UK, US and Canada. In total, her books have been published in eight languages, selling more than half a million copies worldwide. Bev developed a unique recovery program, The Art of Anxiety workshop, designed to educate people about anxiety and provide them with the tools with which to build their own recovery, just as Bev herself has done. Launched in 1998, this program has guided thousands of people in the 'art' of effectively managing anxiety and related conditions. She is also a recognised artist, and her soulful paintings have been regularly exhibited in Victoria and Tasmania. For more information and anxiety resources: bevaisbettartofanxiety.com

I've experienced crippling anxiety since I was very young. 'The Book Of It,' is a very direct, pleasant, understandable experience which I definitely recommend for people with anxiety issues.
