It’s my wedding night. I’m lying face down on the bed of my new husband Owen Law with my wrists and ankles tied down in a giant X.  I’ve been here for twenty minutes, bucking my hips wildly and going out of my mind with lust. Owen is coming back soon to take my virginity, but this is his way of making sure I beg him to do it. 

Owen is my stepfather’s wealthy forty-two-year-old boss who has for all intents and purposes, paid for me.  

I didn’t receive any money.  

It all went to my stepfather who negotiated it and then guilted me into accepting Owen as my husband. He blames my mother. They had a less than ideal marriage, fighting and jealous accusations were a daily thing. Then one day my mother emptied out their accounts and left him for good. Unfortunately, she left him to take care of my younger brothers and me without enough money to pay the next mortgage payment. Daddy was bankrupt and desperate.  

That’s when Owen came for me.  

He proposed marriage. Not to me. He proposed if I married him, he would give Daddy enough money
