Welcome to the Divine Wellness Academy!
I am honored that you have decided to join me on this journey together. The Divine Wellness Academy was created to help you discover the connection between your physical and spiritual health. The better you take care of your body, the better you will be able to take care of your spirit. In order to be truly healthy you have to take care of your mind, body and spirit. The Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20,
You should know that your body is the temple for the Holy Spirit who is in you. You have received the Holy Spirit from God. So you do not belong to yourselves, because you were bought by God for a price. So honor God with your bodies.
During the next ten weeks, you will be going through weekly lessons that are designed to assist you in developing healthier spiritual, physical and emotional lifestyle habits. By the end of our 10 weeks together, my goal is to help you make transformational lifestyle changes through Christ-centered principles. You will be inspired and empowered to make changes in the following areas...

Strength and cardiovascular fitness
Nutrition and proper eating habits
Sleep and stress management

WELLNESS VISION, GOAL SETTING, BODY COMPOSITION
A wellness vision is what you would you look and feel like at your ideal level of wellness in three to five years. What kind of person do you want to be when It comes to your wellness?
My wellness vision is:

Behavior goals are framed around activities that are under your complete control such as I will walk for 30 minutes three times a week or I will eat five servings of vegetables a day. Write down one to three behavior goals that you will be working on over the next ten weeks that will move you towards your wellness vision.

Outcome goals are the intended result that will occur from carrying out a behavior; a long-term measure of strategic effectiveness. An example would be I want to lose ten pounds in the next ten weeks. Write down one to three outcome goals that you want to accomplish in the next ten weeks.

It is Important to have a long-term focus when making major changes in your life. Having an eighteen-month mind set will help you to remain patient and persistent in the pursuit of your goals. Immerse Yourself in the Word
As you begin your personal health and fitness journey, it is imperative that you rely on God's strength to make the necessary changes to live a healthy lifestyle. Change can be hard, especially when you try to do it on your own. The focus on this journey of better health and fitness has to be on God. We are all weak in flesh and must draw on God's strength to make changes with our nutrition and fitness. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. You may have tried to make some lifestyle changes in the past and not had the success you had hoped for. By putting God first and drawing strength from Him to make the necessary changes to be healthy, you will make transformational lifestyle changes that last.
The first emphasis in the Divine Wellness Academy program is to put God first in everything you do. Building a personal and intimate relationship with God will allow you to lean on His strength to help you make healthy changes. Quiet time daily with the lord, preferably first thing in the morning, will give you the strength and the power to make lasting lifestyle changes and will set a positive tone for your day.
We all lead very busy lives that are full of stress and anxiety. The most important thing is to be consistent in this quiet time; it doesn't matter whether it's ten minutes or an hour. God is more important than anything else, and the sooner we learn this, the better shape we will be in spiritually, emotionally and physically.
How you spend this quiet time is up to you. Reading the Bible and meditating on it is a great way to start the day. Prayer time is also essential for starting the day out right. Pray for strength in making the changes necessary to look, feel and perform better in your daily life. Another way to spend your quiet time is to talk to God and write down all of the things you are grateful for in your life. We can fall into the trap of taking things for granted and walking around depressed and sad. When we take some time on a daily basis and reflect on all of the things we are grateful for, it makes it easier to begin our day on a positive note.
Give GOD the honor of giving Him your time, and He will be there in all aspects of your life.
