He had ordered the procedure less than two minutes prior to his outburst, and despite how unreasonable it was to demand it again, Rylee Hunter answered in her usual calm and professional manner.

Yes doctor, it’s done, she said, as she offered the patients arm.

Rylee was new to nursing, only two years out of training, but she had taken to the work like a duck to water. She was intelligent and efficient, caring and compassionate. An optimist who, despite seeing people at their worst, always found the best in others.
