About this ebook

Lila’s friend claims that submitting to a Dom in bed is a wonderful stress-reliever, but Lila is skeptical. So when she opens the door and finds her old crush Theo waiting on the other side, she doesn't know what to do. Since he fails to recognize her, she lets him in, accepting his offer to help her relax.

After he explains that Abby sent him, Lila reconsiders her misgivings about dominant men. When Theo ties her up and woos her with origami doves, she reconsiders her fear of letting go. When he makes love to her, she learns to fly.

    Chapter One

You need a vacation, Abby insisted, tapping a finger on Lila’s cup. "What is that, your third cup of coffee?

Lila rolled her eyes. Why did I even agree to meet you for lunch? She picked at her bread, not particularly hungry. She checked her watch. She’d have to get back to work soon.

I’m serious. Abby sipped her margarita, swallowed, and pointed at her best friend. You work too hard, you never date, you’re always tired. Clearly you need someone to take care of you. The wedding ring on her hand flashed as she emphasized her point. You should let me take you to our club.

I’m fine, Lila said, glancing away from the gold band. Envy was not an admirable emotion. And I’ve told you before, I’m not really into all that stuff. I know you and Steve like it, but I don’t have the time. She paused, thinking about all the gear Abby had shown her over the past few years. Or the energy.

Abby sighed. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to, I’ve explained that, right? It’s a trust thing. Steve takes care of me. He would never hurt me. It’s about letting go. Abby… Lila groaned.

Abby sighed noisily. No, okay. I understand you may not be into the submission thing, but still. You seriously need a vacation. Thoughtfully, she poked Lila’s arm. How about we give you the keys to the cabin for a week?

Lila raised her eyebrows even as she moved her arm away from her friend’s sharp fingertip. That … wasn’t a bad idea, actually. You mean, go by myself?

Abby nodded. Yes, exactly. Abruptly, she frowned. And no work. You’re not allowed to bring anything except something to read or some other hobby. No reports. No spreadsheets. Bring some yarn or something. Didn’t you used to crochet?

Lila pursed her lips, ignoring the question. It’s the middle of January.

"So? The snow’s pretty, up in the mountains. And it’s not like the place doesn’t have heat or running water. It’s not so
