Oriole Park at Camden Yards is home to the Baltimore Orioles. Opening on April 6, 1992, the stadium became the first of the so-called retro ballparks. In contrast to large, multipurpose stadiums, such as the Orioles’s former Memorial Stadium, the throwback features of Camden Yards reminded fans of ballparks of yesteryear: downtown location, limited capacity, and amazing views. Fans at Camden Yards have witnessed many great moments in baseball history, but perhaps none greater than Cal Ripken Jr.’s record-setting 2,131st consecutive game on September 6, 1995. In fact, the ballpark itself is sometimes referred to as The House that Cal Built.
