    Jeremy Pepper, the CEO of Pepper Pubs, hadn’t expected much from this meeting. Garrett was a good friend of his, so he promised to give his new company a chance at designing the theme of his newest restaurant and bar, Pizzazz. Problem was that he’d already seen some designs he liked from a competitor. Of course, he couldn’t tell his friend that and had to at least see what his designer had come up with.

    As Meg sat near the end of the table and nervously tightened her hands on the portfolio before her, he suddenly really looked forward to seeing her work.

    No sir, I couldn’t find your card on the bottom of my purse.

    He chuckled. You probably need a new purse. One that’s harder to lose things, such as your phone?

    She smiled at him, blushing prettily, and he had a sense of déjà vu. He shook it off, dropping his gaze to the folder in front of him. I’m looking forward to seeing what you came up with.

Its fullness and length surprised him, after seeing it in a slick ponytail the night before. Her makeup was moderate, if any, and it looked as if she only used a bit of lip-gloss.
