Chapter One

Erin sat in her perch at the top of the common tree. Looking through the branches, she could see the entire square and the mountains beyond the valley. She considered the tree her sanctuary and had spent much of her free time within its branches throughout the years of her youth.

A youth that was almost over. The birth week of her 20th year would start the following day, which would legally mark her an adult. She’d been prepared her whole life for this night, and she was both excited and anxious it was almost here. Excited because she would finally be free of the children’s wing and have the rights only afforded the adults. Anxious because she would lose her virginity that same night.

Erin didn’t fear the sex act itself, only that she did not know the man with whom she would be fucking. All she did know was that he’d been hand selected by those in charge to be the most compatible with her physiology and best suited to breed with her. She and this unknown male had been thoroughly tested since they reached adolescence to make them both ready for this special night.
