How’s the homework going? The deep, baritone voice drew Jaisa from her laptop screen. He was leaning against the kitchen doorway, arms crossed over his chest, a playful smile on his lips. I gotta say, I don’t miss those days at all.

It would be easier if I actually enjoyed the source material, but it was easily the most convoluted piece of lit I’ve read in ages, and I’m a theatre major—that’s saying a lot!"

His sapphire eyes watched her with fond amusement as she ranted, the corner of his lips ghosting upwards. God, Gray mused as he listened, she is adorable. Her cheeks were flushed from frustration, covering the heavy dusting of freckles in the most charming pink. She got so passionate about these things, so worked up. It was one of the things he enjoyed most about her.

That’s what you get for majoring in theatre, kid. He teased, moving to sit opposite her at the table, resting his cheek in his hand. "It can’t be that bad right? I won’t lie though—I’m always so impressed you manage to juggle school, projects, and working here as well as you do. I don’t think I would have even been able to handle the school part at your age. He paused thoughtfully, before grinning widely at her. I think all I cared about at your age was girls and parties."

Her ruby lips drew into a pout as Jaisa
