About this ebook
Spending a weekend working with the hottest hunk in the company?
“No, thanks,” Abby says.
After all, Dalen seems to think he’s god’s gift to women, and Abby can’t help but take him down a peg or two.
But now their boss has had enough of their lack of cooperation. And he forces them to work out their differences by sharing an important assignment. Or one will go.
Insults fly, but somewhere along the way, Abby discovers that the office Casanova has a hidden agenda. Planning more than just a successful business presentation over the weekend.
So, should she just play along? Or state her own demands upfront and make him play by her rules?

Excerpt:
"You and Abby, Dalen." Mr Carpenter sighed.
"What about us?"
"We've had this conversation before, Dalen. You two are still bickering like an old married couple."
"I'm doing my best to be civil," Dalen said. "It's she who like to go for the frontal attacks. Why don't you talk to Abby instead?"
"I have. Repeatedly. Abby says she tries to ignore you."
Dalen snorted. "Yeah, right."
"It would have worked better if you didn't seek her out and taunt her all the time."
"It's not my problem the woman has no sense of humour," Dalen objected.
"All right. I've had enough of this. You're both adults. I want you to start behaving like that too."
"Sure. No problem."
"Good. Because I want you to take on Abby as your assistant for the upcoming meeting on Monday."
"What for? I don't need any help with that."
The boss snorted. "It might do you good to have some extra input. Besides... I want you to work out your differences over the weekend. I'm not asking you to become best friends or anything. But we can't have two of my best workers throwing insults and staring daggers at each other instead of cooperating. It's bad for morale. Besides, your audiences need to start working instead of watching the entertainment."
"Right."
"Susan has booked a hotel office suite for you. And plane tickets are ordered for this afternoon’s flight."
Dalen nodded. He turned to leave. Just as he reached the door, he turned to the boss.
"Has anyone told Abby about this?"
Mr Carpenter smiled at him. That didn't bode well at all, Dalen thought.
"I thought you should have that pleasure."
Dalen groaned. "She'll bite my head off."
"We'll see. Consider it practice in case you meet a difficult client." He paused slightly. "Oh, and... Good luck."
"Thanks. I'll probably need it."
"And Dalen?"
"Yes."
"If this doesn't work out, I'll have no alternative but to transfer one of you to another department. Or ship you both off to a deserted island until you start behaving like adults."
"You might want to talk to Abby about that. I'm always easy-going."
"She works well with everybody else. Maybe that should tell you something, Dalen."
"Tell me what?"
"Give it some thought. You'll figure it out."
His boss talked in riddles, Dalen thought as he went to find Abby and share the good news. He doubted she would be as thrilled as he was about the assignment. Spending an entire weekend with Abby sounded a lot better than going on his own. He w

A few words from the author
Sometimes love is right beside us – and we don't see it before something happens that opens our eyes, making us see the world in a different light.
These thoughts were the inspiration behind this story. I hope you'll enjoy it!
Take care, everybody, and stay safe,

Chapter 1 The office hunk makes a claim
Friday
Great news, Abby,
said Dalen Anderson as he walked toward her.
Abby glanced up from the papers she was sorting on her desk. What did he want this time? Dalen was generally considered to be the biggest hunk in the office. So why the hell did he need to bother her? It didn't surprise her at all to see that he was followed by the usual gaggle of geese, fawning women as some would call them. All of whom were desperately hoping to become Dalen's next bed partner.
Abby has seen it happen too many times since she had joined the company a year ago. And Dalen didn't help at all by being the biggest flirt to ever possess a cock in a pair of pants. He seemed to thrive on their attention. As if the lovesick gazes from the women were needed to feed his ego.
She too felt the familiar stirring in her loins just by watching his well-hung body move toward her with his usual panther-like grace. Her pulse increased at the same time. It annoyed her immensely that he had any power at all over her mind and body. She wanted to ignore both him and the stirrings he created. Abby had vowed that he would never know about her weakness for him. She thought she had succeeded too.
Luckily, her ordinary looks had allowed her time to observe him and to figure him out before he could work his wiles on her. It was the only thing preventing her from falling into his trap. She shivered when she realised how easily she could have been overwhelmed by his charm. Turning into another of those spineless creatures following him around with their dog eyes and their tongues lolling out. Forever locked in the expectation of him bestowing her a smile or two.
Dalen wallowed in the attention. He flirted and treated the women around him as minor inconveniences that could be swayed by a smile and a few minutes of his masculine attention. Abby had concluded that he had it too easy. She'd decided to give him the opposite reaction just to see what happened.
It had puzzled Dalen exceedingly. It still did. Abby switched between ignoring him or treating him like just any other coworker. But the more Abby ignored him, the more he sought her out. Seeking her company as if he couldn't resist her. Couldn't resist tempting her to respond to him. Taunting and teasing her at every chance he got. She returned the favour by treating him like she treated her younger brother. With haughty disdain and trying to best him with her wits.
They kept up their bantering as if they both enjoyed it too much to quit. Most likely, Dalen saw her as a challenge that he couldn't resist. 'The man's ego had to be the size of his biceps,' Abby thought hastily before arresting herself. 'Forget the biceps, think of him as a prig, a conceited ass,' she reminded herself. This wasn't the time to lose her footing.
No drooling, Abby reminded herself. Absolutely no drooling. She couldn't afford to show any weakness, or Dalen would take advantage of it straight away. She'd worked too hard to keep the upper hand. She was not going to back down. And particularly not to someone like him. She adjusted her reading glasses and scanned his person indifferently before lifting her right eyebrow as if she was classifying a new species of mosquito.
What good news? You mean the penis enlargement cream actually worked?
Abby asked ironically as she gave his lower region a telltale look. Gosh. You must be delighted.
Dalen laughed loudly while some of his harem gasped at her insolence. They looked as if they wanted to console their hero and strangle her at the same time. 'Jackpot,' Abby thought. 10-0 in her favour. Not a bad start to a new day. She tried hard to maintain her neutral expression without bursting into laughter.
You noticed, didn't you?
Dalen winked at her. Now I'm larger than life.
At least your ego is. Boasting about it won't help,
Abby reminded him calmly.
Why don't I give you a demonstration?
Dalen asked heatedly as he leaned closer to her. You can measure all you like.
In width or length?
she flung back before she managed to think whether it was a good solution or a bad one. Most likely it was the latter.
His wide grin confirmed her suspicion. Now we're talking. Your place or mine?
Abby turned her head away from him while trying to ignore the images that started to flood her mind. She could easily imagine what Dalen would look like naked. Aroused, large and eager.
'Shit,' she almost blurted out. Instead, she backed away from Dalen, hitting the front of her desk before she managed to stop her reaction. Damn it. She was giving him the victory on a silver platter. There was no need to make it easier for him. Still, the sound
