Introduction
You picked this book up because you wish to lose weight. Dieting is probably the fastest and best way to shed those unwanted fat and weight. You have the right cookbook in your hands then because the two diets found within the book, the Clean Eating Diet and the Kale Recipes diet both help to lose weight and shed fat. It is mainly because kale is a super food one of the most nutritious foods that grows, giving you the nutrients that can only come from dark green leafy vegetables. Clean eating diet contains foods that are just that, clean. Clean foods are absent of impurities that you will find in junk foods. You will not find sugars, processed flours, and ingredients you normally see in junk food. You will not find foods laden with manmade chemicals and preservatives, artificial flavors and colors. Only whole good foods are in the recipes here, and these are the very foods that help with weight loss.
Weight loss occurs if you diet. But weight loss can happen faster if you do other things to help it along. Dieting alone will work, but doing more like exercising, drinking water, and keeping at it will make the weight fall off faster. Your attitude plays a major role in good weight loss. Start with a good diet such as the diets featured here in this book. This lays the foundation for a good weight loss routine. Even if you do not exercise, just by eating right you are helping your body to lose the weight. Lay the foundation with the diet you eat, do extra by drinking plenty of water, and add an exercise routine to help with the weight loss.
The first step in weight loss is the diet. The diet is the foundation for losing enough weight to make a positive change in the body. While you can exercise and eat junk and maybe lose a pound or two, still eating junk is not healthy. But if you only ever ate good nutritious recipes then you would lose weight, regardless of what else you happen to do. Losing weight is a side benefit of eating right. By eating clean foods, and super foods like kale, you are also helping your body to have a strong immune system. It is because these whole nutritious ingredients contain high levels of nutrients and no bad stuff like preservatives, artificial dyes or flavors or bad sugars or processed flours. The immune system will be strong and able to keep the body healthy. The weight will fall off and it will be easier to maintain a healthy weight level.
The second step in weight loss is in drinking water. That may sound too simplistic but it is true. Water helps facilitate weight loss by cleaning the body of impurities. Water works with the nutritious recipes in aiding the nutrients to absorb properly throughout the body. Even if you are on the smoothie diet, still you should drink water in between meals and snacks. Water helps to clean the intestines, which helps digestion to progress normally, helping to clear out any unhealthy food buildup. Water helps to keep the cells in the body hydrated which leads to clear skin. Here is a quick and easy water drinking formula: Start with your current weight in pounds. Divide the weight by two. That gives you the number of ounces you need per day. Here is an example of a person weighing 150 pounds. 150 divided by 2 is 75. That is 75 ounces of water a day. This is roughly about 9 and 1/3 cups of water. So if you weigh more you will need more, if you weigh less you will need less. The key is to drink until satisfied and to stay hydrated so you never feel thirsty. Always drink plenty of water before and after working out too.
Now we come to the third thing that will help with weight loss and the perfect companion to eating a diet made from nutritious recipes that is exercise. Before you attempt any workout routine you need to clear it with your health care provider first. Make sure you are physically able to do exercises. If you have restrictions, find out what kind of restrictions. Exercising comes in different intensities from very mild and low impact, to strenuous and high impact. If your body is not accustomed to exercising you should start slow, mild, and work up to the more strenuous workouts.
Mild exercises includes walking (nice slow pace and build up to a faster walk), bicycling, swimming, low impact aerobics, gentle jogging. Time wise start with three times a week, or every other day, doing at least a half an hour at a time. Build up to longer workouts; say up to an hour at a time, daily. Build up to walking faster, going further. Build up to high impacting aerobics or even to running. Pace yourself though, because if you jump in and do two hours a day every day you will do your body more harm. Moderation is the key to success with exercise. You will find as you exercise you will increase your energy levels, as the weight drops, and as you eat the nutritious diet foods. Make sure to drink plenty of water before and after each workout.
Now that you understand how to take this cookbook and make it work as a great weight loss diet plan you can get started. There are enough recipes in this book to cover a month or so of meal plans without too many repeats. Because kale is considered a clean
food too, you can easily interchange the two diet plans successfully. Start with a good attitude and a goal to lose weight and stick with it.
