The Dropout That retired at 48!!
I hope you enjoy this e-book on BBQ. As people have been burning meat for centuries, some of the recipes may look familiar. All have been tweaked
in some way to get them to my liking. I do thank my many friends and family for sharing recipes with me in the past. BBQing is all about learning and I have learned things from many wonderful people, you all know who you are and I thank you! Lastly, ALL profits that may stem from this e-book will go to a charity I will write about at the end of this book. With that being said, it is my deepest wish that the recipes found here and my techniques will help enhance your own BBQ experience. Enjoy and God bless!
ABOUT ME
I was born in the city of Curitiba, Brazil into a Mennonite family. I have memories of our family making BBQ as far back as I can remember. My family moved to Canada in 1965 but I returned to Brazil in 1992 and met my wife to be and we married in 1993. We travel often between Canada and South America and I have learned many BBQ techniques during my travels. Whether in the basement fireplace, over a campfire at the cabin, or in the brick BBQ’s of Brazil and Paraguay, I have long smelled the wonderful aroma of roasting meat over a hot bed of coals. I believe it is even Biblical! If you do not believe me, then look here:
Exodus 12:8-9: They shall eat flesh roasted on the fire with bread and herbs Not raw or boiled in water but roasted
Exodus 29:18: You shall burn the Ram Burnt offering it is a pleasing aroma to the Lord a food offering
Genesis 8:20-21: Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and offered burnt offerings, the Lord smelled the pleasing aromas
Oh yes, God loves a good BBQ! So I dedicate this book to God and His goodness in providing the world with the gift of BBQ. I also dedicate this book to my Opa
Bargen. Opa is BBQing in heaven now; it was with my Opa where the memories start.
ROB’S RULES OF BBQ
Are they really rules
? Perhaps guidelines or techniques is a better term or better yet, just tips? I do not want to make myself come across as the know all of BBQ. I do NOT know everything and am constantly learning. God severely humbled me early in my foray in BBQ,
