Speed Cooking 1 - Michael Bousfield

Speed Cooking 1 is designed to address many of the problems a family of two or four have with food and food preparation. First, there are those of us who hate to cook or just don't have time to cook. Food preparation can be a real burden to some people, which is probably most of us. Who's got time or the inclination to spend on and one-half hours making and cleaning up after a meal?

This quandary produces the second problem, we eat out a lot. Eating out means no portion control which means weight gain! Thirdly, it also means eating a lot of processed food which isn't healthy as study after study can attest to. Just look around you, two-thirds of us are overweight, many are morbidly obese. If you don't think this is true, look at the old movies or even movies from thirty years ago. People just weren't obese like they are today. Obesity produces health problems like diabetes, joint problems, heart problems, the list goes on and on. Anyone who has been around someone overweight can hear their breathing difficulties. They can observe the reduced motion caused by the brain telling the body to slow down to prevent overdoing.

Fourth, it's about the money, honey! The average person spends up to $800 a month on food ,eating in and out. The average family makes $45,000 a year. This means the average family can't possibly afford to spend $800 a month or $9,600 a year on food! Financial problems equal stress! Stress equals more food.

Lastly, it's about the obsession with food we've developed as a society. It's compensation for a troubling spouse, kids, work, life in general. So let's do something about it!
