    Introduction

Tips and Recipes For Easy Cooking contains original recipes and shortcuts developed over years of cooking. This cookbook makes easy cooking an everyday pleasure, with many 30-minute recipes. Enjoy retirement with good food on a budget, and make cooking fun.

Food is a major expense for retirement living, but you can decrease your food costs and continue to eat well. Learn to cook cheaply and serve nutritious food with little waste. Your result can be a fatter wallet and a smaller waist. One-dish meals are ideal for senior citizens, with easy cooking and easier cleanup. Side dishes of fresh or cooked vegetables complete any meal, even a one-dish dinner. Recipes can give you ideas to get started, but you don't have to follow them in detail. Add what you have available and be creative.

Eating well and frugal cooking both begin with grocery shopping. If you know what to buy and how to shop, you will have the ingredients available for many meals. Grocery shopping begins with a master list developed over time. You can start your master list when you first start housekeeping or at any point in your cooking life. Calculate the amount of each product that you need for the month. If you use a loaf of bread a week, you will need four or five loaves of bread for the month.

This is volume 2 of the Retirement Living Guide for Senior Citizens, but you don't have to be a senior to like easy cooking.
