The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics has shown that the cost of an average basket of groceries has risen by 4.2 per cent, whilst a separate study by researchers at smart food innovators yfood (uk.yfood.eu) reports that the cost of living squeeze has impacted the way we shop. Yfood’s research reveals that 41 per cent of us now associate healthy and nutritious food products with unaffordable prices, while a further 33 per cent of us feel that we have been forced to change the way we shop at the expense of our dietary needs.
