    Introduction

My sole purpose for writing this book is to achieve a positive change in the perceptions of my readers. The contents of this book will allow them to instigate change, bringing about positive growth for their lives, benefiting not only themselves, but everyone around them in the process. During my life, I am working to bring benefit to people and the planet as a whole. I hope in some way that this book goes towards bringing about positive growth, focus, intent and purpose.

Many of the practices in this book have sacred beginnings. Because of my study in Buddhism you will notice a lot of this aspect of my life influencing the pages of this book. I ask all to please take the information as it comes and do not let my belief system discourage you in any way or form.

Within the format of this book I have purposely repeated some of the information with slight variation to reinforce the key messages I wish to get across. As you go through the book you will more than likely pick up on this fact. Please continue to read as it serves a purpose in deepening your awareness and realisations of what the book is about. As with all books, I highly recommend that you re-read these pages every six months or so to gain a much deeper understanding. As you grow and develop, the information contained within will have a different meaning and your understanding and perception will be dramatically different. It’s like reading a new book every time.

Please enjoy these pages and may they bring much growth, peace and happiness to your life……….

May all sentient beings have happiness and the cause of happiness.

May all sentient beings be free from suffering and the cause of suffering.

May all sentient beings not be separated from the happiness that is without suffering.

May all sentient beings abide in equanimity, free of attachment and hatred (for those held) close and distant.

    HAPPINESS

I often get asked how we can live happy and harmonious lives. While writing this chapter and thinking on the subject of what makes happiness, a song popped into my head: The Beatles ‘Love is all you need’ and yes, I would say Love is all you need.

Love for all beings and most importantly love of self. What I mean by love of self is not standing in front of a mirror thinking how beautiful you are, but truly caring and nurturing yourself. A good indicator for knowing if you have enough love of self is contentment. If you are not totally contented with your life, then this tells me you do not love yourself enough. Start to make conscious decisions in your life to nurture yourself at least once a week. This will generate positive energy which in turn will attract more positive experience to your life, thus generating happiness.

Nurturing yourself can be done in many ways. For example: take an aromatherapy bath, go to the beach or mountains and just sit, relax and forget about your day to day stresses, take time out to read a book, do something for yourself that makes you happy. There are many ways you can nurture yourself. Recognise your value, rest and revitalise. Another way you can love yourself is to stop creating disharmonious energy in your life. Part of loving yourself is nourishing your body with harmony.

If you wish to experience happiness, peace and tranquillity in your life, then project that out. Live it and it will be. The best way of experiencing happiness is to make people happy. By creating happiness for others you experience happiness for yourself. The old adage what you put out comes back is so true.

Know that we are all products of our thoughts, speech and actions. Our experience of life is a result of these three things. We manifest our life through what we think, say and do, and then decide to perceive the result either positively or negatively. If you choose the negative perspective, these energies will have a disharmonious effect on your system or visa versa. Focusing on the positive brings positive. Generating positive energy keeps you healthy on all levels of your existence. A healthy energy system means a healthy mind, body and spirit.

The human body has many systems that are responsible for the correct functioning of itself e.g. Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Endocrine and Digestive systems etc. The human body also has an Energetic system which is responsible for the health and protection of the body. This system is very complex and I would need a separate book just to explain this subject. However, the major aspects of our energy system directly stimulate our endocrine system, which is our hormonal system. If this stimulation and energising were not to take place, then our endocrine system would be greatly compromised and eventually would shut down. For our hormonal system to hold itself in a state of homeostasis it needs energetic support from our chakra system.

We have chakras that are part of our energetic system. Chakras are spinning vortexes of energy that extend beyond our physical body. We have major, minor and sub-minor chakras, all of which are connected via energetic pathways called nadis channels. There are approximately 72,000 of these channels within the human body, which roughly follow the line of the nervous system but are not a part of it. Each of the seven major chakras is responsible for stimulating an endocrine gland. Energy enters the body via the major chakras, and then is stepped down into the minor chakras, then into the sub minor centres and through nadis channels to each gland. Our major chakras are like pick up points for universal energy. The human body relies on universal energy for nourishment. Our major chakras draw in this energy through their spinning effect. Once entering the body this energy goes through the process of stepping down through the minor centres until it reaches a useable frequency for the endocrine system. The energetic component of the gland draws in this vital energy to help with its correct functioning and maintenance.

When we keep creating disharmonious energy within our bodies through what we think, say and do, we start to have a negative affect on our energetic system. The more we create, the more it builds up inside of us. Eventually, if these energies are not removed from the body they will compromise the correct functioning of the energy system. This in turn will compromise the health and function of the endocrine system, which in turn will create ill health and disharmony for the entire body. Thankfully, the body is equipped to deal with these disharmonious energies. But if we are putting more in than it can cope with at the one time, it literally puts them into storage. One day, if the body experiences having a quieter period it can take them out of storage and work on them and digest or release them out of the system. Often the body never gets its quiet period for the simple reason that the more disharmonious energy we put in, the more it has a tendency to generate a more disharmonious mind-set. This will start you on to a more negative outlook and approach to life, and the downward cycle snowballs. The only way to break this cycle is to counteract this trend by using harmonious energy. A change in one’s
