Part 1

I’d been in college for a couple months and was adjusting to dorm life. I was lucky to make friends with Marcy and Carol. They were sweet and funny and best of all they lived in a suite! It was big and comfortable and had its own bathroom. Everyone else who lived in the dorm had to put on slippers and a robe every time she had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Not to mention having to escort male guests to the men’s room at the end of the hall.

One night I thought I needed a study break so I put on a robe and slippers and padded down the hall to Marcy and Carol’s suite. I knocked on the door and after a few seconds, Marcy opened the door a little. She smiled and said hi. Marcy was tall with long dirty blonde hair, now it was in a long braid. She was in a T-shirt and sweats. And she was wearing her glasses. None of this was unusual for this time at night.

She turned her head and yelled to Carol. It’s Marissa, can she come in?

Carol yelled from inside, Sure, I guess.
