Awful narrator, and awfully written text. Words EMOTION and Emotional Intelligence are repeated and stressed in almost every sentence. It's really hard to listen to this audio book.
Also I'd never call this a guide, especially not an ULTIMATE guide, because there is very little useful information. The author mentioned to be alert for a possible golden nugget in the text, and obviously he said that knowing that the text is full of obvious facts and you have to really pay attention to hear something you didn't know before.
    Not worth my time.

The ability to manage emotions, including the ability to regulate your own emotions, and the ability to cheer up or calm down another person. We all have the task of knowing ourselves as deeply as we can, and then manifesting that self as fully as possible in the world.

The benefit to this audiobook to me was conflict resolution physiology in a brain function way more emotional and then as a tool application.

This wonderful audiobook shines a light on the fact that intelligence, that is "audiobook smarts," is just one component of what contributes to a person's overall success in life.

I really wish I had listen this book in high school and better yet had a course in it. This should be required listening for leaders, managers and executives.

Not for anyone neurodivergent. While the information is a very thorough overview of what emotional intelligence is, there is minimal in terms of actionable steps that a person can take to develop emotional intelligence. Of course the author suggests signing up for their master class, which is free, so there is potentially further learning. The author does assume that the listener has a neurotypical brain. Statements like "don't act impulsively" or "remain calm" assumes that the listener already has the mental capacity to do so. Of the listed keys to emotional intelligence, there are 3 that are a challenge for people who have differently wired brains: self regulation, motivation and social skills. This, if course, is not the author's fault. But I believe there are more people besides those with identified neuro-divergencies that have challenges with these skills areas, beyond what this overview can address.
