About this audiobook

An estimated 20 million people miss between one and three days of work each week because of severe, chronic, debilitating insomnia. And, as many as forty percent of Americans over the age of 60, suffer from some type of sleep apnea. In this study, Dr. Fritz investigates these alarming statistics and attempts to help readers fully understand this serious problem.

Narration: 3/5 -- I have no strong opinions either way

Writing: 3/5 -- Written by an entrepreneur-author, not a medical doctor.

Content: 2/5 -- Nothing I couldn't learn elsewhere faster or better. And this book was published in 1993. Hasn't sleep science has learned a lot since then?

Comments: The author toots his own horn a lot, especially at the beginning. I was very disappointed because the first two sections (forward and preface) are written by credentialed medical sleep specialists. Follows a layman's opinion. But there was some unintended humour... "I was involved in 15 auto accidents due to falling asleep at the wheel... My mother, a registered nurse, became convinced that I had sleep narcolepsy." Petty criticism of mine -- The author misunderstands what the 'sangha' is in Buddhism.
