About this audiobook
For Serena Otaki, free-spirited Californian, life is simple. She loves smashing atoms at The Large Hadron Collider near Geneva, Switzerland. She loves Star Trek, spicy tofu, and her cat, Captain Purrk. She loves her messy (slob-fest) apartment, her chaotic brand of organizing, and staying permanently, happily unattached.
Life is perfect. She has one true love—physics.
Loving a man isn’t in her future.
For Henry Joule, uptight Brit, life is simple. He loves making analog black holes, drinking piping hot tea, and organizing his pencil tray. He loves his family, red meat, and obsessively cleaning his spotless apartment.
Life is perfect. He has many loves—physics, family, friends. He can’t wait to find the woman of his dreams.
Love and marriage are in his future.
One perfect night Serena and Henry meet. Sparks fly, particles collide, the universe comes to a halt, and…
It was a mistake.
They’re too different.
It won’t work.
Love isn’t in their future.
Until an electric storm causes an unexpected event at the particle collider and suddenly—they’ve switched.
Serena is in Henry’s body.
Henry is in Serena’s body.
And both life and love are suddenly very, very complicated.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a love story about two people who are clearly meant for each other (despite some very strong differences in personality and temperament) but only one of them is willing to admit it. I really enjoyed it, it had humor and heart. It was interesting to watch a scientific mind trying to reconcile what her heart wanted and what empirical evidence in her own family and life had trained her to believe (and fear). And I enjoyed the three different settings - Geneva, Switzerland, Henry's home & family in Britain, and Serena's home & family in California. I listened to the audiobook and the narration by Kelsey Navarro Foster and James Anderson Foster both added to my enjoyment.
But reader be warned: If you aren't the type to embrace some serious suspension of disbelief, this probably isn't the book for you. You need to pretty much throw logic and (ironically) physics out the window and just go with Ready's magical realism flow. If you can't, this Freaky Friday type scenario probably just won't be a good fit for you. But if you're like me, and can let those things go and just enjoy the ride, it's definitely worth the try.
Also note - this was my second book by Sarah Ready, and the first one I'd read was not Ghosted, the book that precedes this one. Fortunately that didn't matter much - and in fact it made me want to read Ghosted to get the story there with that couple. But things fell into place here so that the reader doesn't really need that background to enjoy this book.
Thanks to Netgalley and W. W. Crown for providing a copy for an unbiased review. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was SO GOOD - I loved Serena’s informative tangents and how can you not fall in love with Henry Joules’ cinnamon bun character? The character growth in this book was exponential, and it was such a sweet story with bits of humour sprinkled in.
