We had a wonderful and heart-warming response to our quest to find New Zealand’s most romantic proposal. After much deliberation, we’re delighted to reveal our winner: Saul. After two years of planning, Saul popped the question to Oriwia in such a thoughtful way that combined the couple’s different heritages. Saul & Oriwia
A few years ago I started to think about a ring for Oriwia. My aim was to create a unique ring with New Zealand materials and workmanship. Over time, and with much research, this came to fruition with a bespoke ring made from Shotover Gold in Queenstown and the work of a gem carver in Central Otago. The sapphire itself was hand mined in Australia. The end result was unique in every way, just like Oriwia.
The idea of the proposal came with a world trip, during which we were passing through some iconic proposal venues. I could have proposed in Hawaii, New York,
