About this audiobook

Madi doesn’t have time to date. Oliver has all the time in the world.

When wedding photographer Madi is challenged to find herself ten dates in three months, she turns to her older brother’s three best friends to be her stand-ins. It helps her win the challenge without having to deal with the stress of dating. What could go wrong?

Oliver hasn’t had much to do since selling his company, and helping Madi has given his life meaning again. But when she asks him to pose as her boyfriend—more than just a date here and there—he suddenly finds himself questioning his feelings toward the girl he always saw as a little sister. Feelings that would get him murdered by his best friend.

No one sees the real Oliver the way Madi does, and Madi has never been as comfortable around anyone as she is with Oliver. With the fake part of their relationship feeling less and less fake, they both have to decide if they’re brave enough to take that first step toward something real. Is a chance at love worth risking a lifetime of friendship?

Brother's best friend/childhood friends. Forbidden romance. Fake dating. Forced Proximity. Text threads. Kissing in the rain. Found Family.
Such a great story! I've heard a lot about this series and how wonderful it is (no pun intended ?) and I GET IT, OK. Lots of tension, the Wonder Boys comraderie is so fun. I have an older brother and grew up with a similar group of guys that were great friends to me and protective of me, and I dated a couple of them as well, so super relatable. ? I loved every minute of this story and am excited to continue it and see all the Wonder Boys get their HEA ?

? Audio: Duet narration - which is THE BEST! Both male and female narrators were fantastic ? Its available pretty much everywhere!

? Romantic Content: 2 Brief kissing

    ? Some Quotes:
As he watched her, a sudden realization hit Oliver straight between the eyes and left him feeling numb and electrified at the same time, like he’d just been struck by lightning. Madi was beautiful.

And the hug he gave her was unlike anything she’d ever felt before. He held her so tightly, like he wanted to protect her from the world, but there was something else there too. He buried his face in her neck as if he hoped she could protect him right back. No one had ever needed her like that before. It felt like coming home.

He had wanted to kiss her, and that was a problem because he very much wanted to do it again.

This book was so sweet and cute. And fun! Some great funny moments, especially with the guys. The Wonder Boys are great and I’m excited for the stories of all of them. Maddie and Oliver are so engaging as main characters. As part of a bet with her friend Danny, Maddie needs to go on dates, so she recruits her older brother’s friends, affectionately known as the Wonder Boys. Over some time and dates, Oliver and Maddie start to realize that they feel more for each other than just friendship…and maybe they have all along. I loved the journey these two took to reach each other. One of my favourite things about this story is that there was no years of pining on either main characters’ parts. It seems like the default in brother’s best friend stories for one (or both) of them to pine for years. It’s great to have both characters just come to the realization there’s more to their relationship over the course of the book. (I really prefer it that way.) There were some sweet and beautiful moments as they did. Once they got there, things moved pretty fast (to me anyways), but the ending was just wonderful. It left me so happy. The book is sweet and clean with no harsh language. The narration was really good. I liked both narrators and loved the dual narration. They had great voices to listen to, conveyed emotion well, and were clear and easy to understand. Exactly what I want in narrators. I do kind of wish the female narrator had just kept Maddie’s voice a little closer to her natural voice, which was lovely to listen to, only because, at times, Maddie’s voice sounded a little too childlike to me. But that’s a small detail. I’m happy to recommend this story and the audiobook. I enjoyed it so much!

I finally got to meet the Wonder Boys! I much prefer to listen to my books, so I was very excited when I saw the audiobook available on Scribd!

This is the first of a series, and I did feel like much of the plot was spent in setting up the relationships with the gang. I did enjoy seeing how past events were affecting current events. I hope more from this series will be made into audiobooks soon because I would enjoy reading the others' stories.

Now the narratoration took a little bit to get used to. I really enjoyed that it was dual narrators and all male parts were read by the male narrator and the same is true for the female parts and narrator. It took me about 4 chapters for me to figure out what felt a little odd. The story is told in third person instead of first person. So the narrators were talking about someone else instead of themselves. This was the first audiobook that I'd listened to written/read in this way. Once I figured out my issue, it was much easier for me to listen. The only negative was that the voice the female narrator used for Madi made her sound like she was 12 to me. Not that big of a deal, but just wanted to mention it.

I'd recommend this clean/sweet contemporary romcom.
