Honestly, I rarely read sequels when the couple already got together in the first book, because 1)my shallow little romantic heart is less invested in the story line once they're "together", and 2)I don't want to read a second book where something stupid breaks them up, and they separate for awhile.

But since I loved Josh and Gemma's first book so much.....

    NO.REGERTS.

I love Josh. That's it. Period. He's just yummy and divine and everything perfect in a true hero.

There were times and ways that I loved this book even more than the first. The ending was ever-so-slightly anti-climactic for me, and there was more Ian stuff than I would have preferred, and that's probably the only thing keeping me from giving this five stars right now.

THIS BOOK GAVE ME HEART EYES, fo' rizzle.

I didn’t read the first book and I felt to some extent this therefore meant it took a long time to get on top of the characters and what was happening in the story. As a result I didn’t really enjoy the first half that much but got into the story more in the second half where it was more enjoyable. Although having said that I can’t say that I ever fell in love with the characters, or found myself strongly rooting for them. There just seemed something missing for me in this book in emotional attachment with the characters. This may have been impacted by the narrator and her style of reading the book, which in this case I felt limited my enjoyment of the book. I read a lot of the books of this style and overall I felt there are better books out there in this genre. For me it was an okay book but not really anything more I don’t think I would read the first book following this. If you are planning to read the book I would personally say go straight to the book and avoid the audiobook but it might just be me.Thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for providing a review copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I relly liked Josh and Gemma Make a Baby and was happy to find out that another book about Josh and Gemma was being published. This second book about the couple was not as good as the first one. I think I would have been happy to leave them where they were in the end of the first book. The audiobook is narrated superbly by Erin Mallon. This book deals with some heavy subjects like mental health and brain damage. In the beginning Josh and Gemma are getting married and having a baby when something happens that changes the course of their lives. They have to find their way to each other again, being Josh and Gemma, but different.Josh is my favorite character in these books. I was a little disappointed that he was not as much present in the story as I would have thought. This book is in general more about Ian Fortune. We learn his story and motivations. Also as much as Josh and Gemma wanted a baby in the first book, here the baby felt like a prop when Gemma was dealing with her own life. The other familiar characters were just as charming as I remembered from the firs book.I think that Josh and Gemma do not need any more books. I would not mind reading a book about Ian Fortune, though.

Josh and Gemma are about to marry when Gemma experiences an eclampsia-induced seizure. After three months in a coma, she's disoriented, and she's lost touch with her emotions. Her doctor says there's a good chance she'll make a full recovery. Yet Gemma isn't sure she can ever feel the love for Josh that she did before. Can their relationship survive?

This is a funny, poignant emotional novel that I loved as much as the first book in the series. Josh is patient and supportive with Gemma during her recovery. The audiobook narration was well done. It's ultimately a joyful, uplifting story.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
