Why, why use a British narrator for a U.S. based book?

I say that this book is an interesting storyline with the FBI agent with psychic gifts that helps her see into the life and futures occurrence of their victims and the killer. But her partner will alway suspect her that she has something going on or somehow she get information about the case they on. But she will have to talk to her partner about it so she will lose her new partner.
