- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Heart wrenching, gripping tale. Hard to put down. Don't miss this one.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This book had so much potential, but it missed its mark tremendously. There should have been more character development and back story and worked off that. I also did not like the main character, at first I sympathized but as it went on I lost that, if the author would have focused on character development, back story and redemption then this could have been very good book
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Brilliant. Lots of twists and turns. I highly recommend this book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5And one super story more, with great characters, and a surprising end. Thanks to the great author, and to the equally talented reader. I loved it, as I love all Anita Waller's books. Feel like I'm there, a fly on the wall, but in each skin.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I loved this book but the end and twist kind of annoyed me, so 4 stars instead of 5.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow What a writer . Anita just gets better every book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The Blount meanness of Marta. She knew no love at all. Not surprised if her manipulation will also kill her sister.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Couldn’t stop listening. You never know what’s coming next. Great development of the characters.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I found the story implausible that in the beginning to find a child in such a state as to immediately place her with a foster family. Also the ending didn't make sense. Why when their loving adopted father was a good man did he get lumped in with two bad men neither girls knew personally?
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This book left me wanting more characters in the first half and a more believable story line.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was an interesting story for sure. I think a section on the grandmother’s story would have been a great addition. Weird people for sure. It really does bring a new perspective to the nature versus nurture debate. I guess Anita Waller wanted to tap into the weaknesses of men. It would be nice though to see a significant character who is male but not so awful. There were some issues that were not really addressed that I would liked answered-Why/how did Philip target Jeannette? Why Archibald? What became of Harry? Etc. I found the early “Marta” section dragged on a bit too long while the latter teen years were brushed over. The ending was a bit anticlimactic.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story started off very interesting and creepy but got tame as it continued. I thought it could have been much more interesting if the main character’s flaws were flushed out.
